Borger Retires!
April 2, 2010 – 08:30 AM
#9 Borger decides to retire from Dawgs. "I am not as young as I used to be", said Borger. Scorekeeping duties will now fall to Manager Chris Barkdull until a replacement can be found. "That loafer Borger was always causing us trouble" said Barkdull, "He was fudging with the numbers for some ill purpose no doubt! Not to mention that he was always fighting with the umpires, and drinking more than his fair share of beer, good riddance!" Manager Barkdull will now ask some of the younger players if perhaps their girlfriends will now take up Borger's former duties.

April 13, 2009 – 09:00 PM
RKH came out to play ball Monday night at Willow Lane for the season opener for both teams. The Dirt Dawgs took a few innings to warm up, and warm up they did scoring 15 runs between the 4th, 5th, & 6th innings to rally back and win 17-15 after being down 13-1 after 3 innings. The Dirt Dawgs hitting attack was led by none other than Dan "Spikes" Silva & Chuck "Foo" Wiseweaver both going 3 for 3, & a walk a piece. Jason "Beefy" Barnes also collected 3 hits for the Dawgs. Other noteworthy news for the game was in the 1st inning the Dawgs had a chance to get on the board with bases loaded and two outs. Matty Williams struck out swinging to end the inning... Looks like the beer's on him next week.

Dawgs settle with 4th place finish in Tournament.
July 21, 2007 – 04:00 PM
After McG Crew beat down the Dawgs, they went on to win the tournament. It hurts to lose, but when you lose to the team that wins the whole thing, it seems to hurt a little less. It was a fun tournament, It's good to have the old crew back together, and we have a lot more game to win together as a team.
Dawgs: No Bark, No Bite
July 21, 2007 – 02:45 PM
McG stomped all over the Dawgs in tournament play despite great defense performances by Adam Wise and Dan Silva and a 2 run homer by Silva in the 4th inning. The officials called the game after 5 due to the 12 run rule.

On September 4th, 2007 the Dawgs played Kyle's Dingo's, despite being well shorted handed the Dawgs held out until the last inning losing 10 to 9. The Dawgs were already short one player in the game when Jed and Adam collided in the outfield during the bottom of the 4th inning. Jed has helped off the field. There is no word at this point on his condition. Xrays later this evening will determine the extent of his injuries.

Dawgs "12 run ruled" 4th team of the season 25-11.
June 28, 2007
Thursday night at Cassia park it was 100 degrees at game time in a game between 9-1/4 and 84 Lumber. 84 lumber was the team that came out hot scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning (once again thanks to a couple of defensive errors by the Dawgs). But, after that 84 Lumber went scoreless for 3 innings straight, and never could get back into the game. The hitting attack of 9-1/4 was very impressive to say the least, they scored 20 combined runs in the 4th-6th innings. Brandon Pechin went 4-4 to bring his batting avg. up to a dismal .417 on the season. Doyle Savelberg has 5 doubles in his 3 games played this season! Barry Borger is impressed with the improved stick of big Josh Thomas, and really likes Chase in the leadoff position due to his hot stick and good wheels.
9-1/4 wins rematch against Home Federal
June 26, 2007
The team called it last week, The Dawgs need to score 15 runs a game consistently to win games. That is exactly what the they scored on Tuesday night at Willow Lane. Home Federal drops to 5-4 with 2 of there losses coming from 9-1/4. Meanwhile 9-1/4 improves there record to 7-2 with one last game on Thursday night which is a rainout make up against 84 Lumber. Five guys lead the hitting attack for the Dawgs each going 3-4, and Chris Barkdull went 4-4 with a stand up triple. Adam Wise was heard saying that this team is really "gellin" right now and that the 8 run inning in the 5th was huge for this squad.
Dawgs Snap 2 game losing streak
9-1/4 had the whole team show up on Tuesday night @ Cassia Park and wins 12-3. "There was really nothing to complain about in our play tonight" said Greg Roberts who played in three different positions and making plays in all of those positions. The Borg did make the comment that "our base running skills could use some improvement but was happy with the win". The Dawgs welcomed back "Big D." as he played his 1st game this season hitting 2 doubles. The Dawgs defense is pretty tight, but should be scoring at least 15 runs a game, stay tuned to see how many they can score next week.
A few of the Dawgs.
Whose on 1st?
DDS extends Dawgs losing streak to 2 games.
DDS wins game of definsive battle. The score was 4-2 after one inning and remained that through the 5th. 9-1/4 scored 2 in the 6th and 2 more in the top of the 7th to have a 8-2 lead. DDS came out hitting base hit after base hit, and 9-1/4 helped them out with several feilding errors and could not stop them from scoring 7 runs in the last inning to steal the win.
COPS use "night sticks to beat 9-1/4 in late game.
May 29, 2007
Taco Bell (aka Boise Police Dept.) played a good game & ended the Dirt Dawgs 5 game winning streak. Both teams went into the game undefeated, but the Dirt Dawgs had too many errors, and left too many men on base. A few bright spots; Chase Harris did a nice job in the lead off position going 3 for 4, as did Chris Barkdull & Greg Roberts went 4 for 4, and now leads 9-1/4 with an astonishing .789 batting average.
Dirt Dawgs not so kind to "Take Kindly".
May 15, 2007
After a dismal 1st inning by both teams, the score was 0-0. Then, the Dawgs settled into midseason form with a six run inning in the 2nd, and added four more runs in the 3rd. Take Kindly down 10-0, decided to show up and scored six runs themselves in the 3rd. Although Take Kindly never had the lead in this game, they made it a nail bitter in the bottom of the 7th, As bases where loaded with 2 outs, SS Ben Morley for the Dawgs (after making a couple of errors earlier in the game) made up for it with a play on a hard hit grounder and stepped on 2nd base for the force out to end this exciting game. Dawgs hitting attack was led by Brandon Pechin, and Adam Wise, with three hits & two RBI's each.
4-0
May 9, 2007
THE DIRTIES GO 4-0, OFF TO A SLOW START BUT THEN THEY TURNED IT ON IN THE MIDDLE INNINGS. THANKS TO THE GREAT STICKS OF CHUCK FU WISEWEAVER, CURL BARKDULL, AND ADAM " WEEBS " WISE. SO CONGRATUALTIONS DAWGS
Dawgs Stay Hot, Now 3-0 on the season.
May 4, 2007
This was the closest game of this young season for the dawgs. They survived a top of the 7th inning surge from Team Pepsi, but with a solid defensive performance, 9-1/4 had little to worry about. Adam Wise continues to have the hottest stick in the league hitting a .769 on the season going 3 for 4 tonight with a triple, and a game high 3 rbi's.
The Dirt Dawgs win big....Again.
May 2, 2007
The Dawgs scored 16 runs in the 2nd inning which was enough by itself to get the win. But they did more than just that, the won by the 12 run rule for the second time in as many games. Team 9-1/4 had another key injury tonight, starting pitcher Rick Chilton. It appeared to be an achiles tendon or ankle injury. Chris Barkdull who had a back injury last week planned to sit out this game, came in to relieve in the 3rd. Jed Robinson had the Dawgs 1st longball of the season, and Ben Morley added another later in the game.
