Football Season 2012
The Dewey Junior Football & Cheerleading Program is going on it's 11th year! The DJF is a member of the Northeast Oklahoma Youth Football Association, which consists of Dewey, Nowata, Mannford, Perkins, Sperry, Blackwell, Perry, Cleveland, Cushing, Bristow and Okmulgee.
The DJF progam is for kids attending Dewey Public Schools and going into 2nd grade through the 6th grade. Tackle football is for 2nd through 6th graders. Cheerleading is also offered for all grades. All games are played on Saturday. Practices will begin around the 1st of August. WE DO TRAVEL so be prepared!
The most important aspect that every parent and coach needs to remember is that our program is here to teach our kids the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, teamwork, sportsmanship, spirit of competition as well as and most importantly to HAVE FUN.

NEWS UPDATE!!!
Based upon background checks by the board, coach's evaluations, input of grade representatives, and reference checks from the community, all of which led to the decisions of the board to pick the following for head coaches and assistant coaches for each grade. This is the complete list of those approved by the selection process and the ones who have agreed/confirmed to coach have an asterisk beside their names, those without an asterisk are still qualified by the selection process but have not verified yet that they are available to coach this year. We want to thank everyone who has volunteered to coach, but not everyone was selected. Those names that were not approved will not be listed. We also want to thank everyone for their patience as we introduced a new formula for selecting coaches. As the board we desire to honor the community’s request several months ago to include the community through open board meetings and decisions made by the board. We want to encourage your feedback through our online coach’s evaluations, email or phone call, please stay in contact with us and voice your thoughts as we move towards this 2012 season.
