We are already gearing up for our Fall 2014 season, and want to provide you with initial registration information

Fall Ball is a great way to continue growing your Son and/or Daughter's skills, while keeping them involved in a fun game that we all enjoy

Fall Registration 'in-person' opportunities (BASEBALL & SOFTBALL) will be held at the E.B. Community Arts Center on Cranbury Road:

Thursday August 21 beginning at 7:30 (Following General Board meeting at 7PM) to 8:30PM

 

At EBBL Complex 365 Dunhams Corner Rd

Weds August 27th 7:00PM to 8:30 PM

Weds September 3rd 7:00PM to 8:30PM

SATURDAY MAY 17TH, 2014

Featuring our 2nd Annual Hitting/HR Derby, Banner Day Parade from our Instructional Boys & Girls, Music &


Delicious Food from Carrabba’s Italian Grill of East Brunswick

 

 

The  Derby is a fund raising event to help raise money for the league and this year’s selected charity, The Strike 3 Foundation. The Strike 3 Foundation is a not-for-profit public charity recognized by the IRS under 501(c)(3) that heightens awareness,mobilizes support, and raises funding for childhood cancer research.     For more about Strike 3  go to www.strike3foundation.org

Autism RibbonIn order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, the Autism Society has been celebrating National Autism Awareness Month since the 1970s and EBBL will continue to collect donations throughout the season.

 

 

 

 

 

And a very heartwarming thanks for our friends at Carrabba’s Italian Grill of East Brunswick for providing us with this delicious menu;

 

 

Carrabba’s tasty meatballs sprinkled with Romano cheese

Homemade  Pasta with grilled chicken in a plum tomato sauce

Authentic  Italian Chicken Fingers

 

All of Carrabba’s items will be $3.00 and 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit EBBL, Autism Awareness and Pediatric Cancer Research

The Festivities will begin at 11:30 AM and last until 4:30 PM

EBBL Announced the slate of Board of Directors for 2013-14 at last nights General Membership Meeting.   The new board will become effective at the October 17th General Membership meeting.  We would like to thank all our volunteers, participants and outgoing board members for making 2013 a successful season and wish the new board all the best for 2014.

Home Run Hitting Derby Success!

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OUR PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PAST SATURDAY'S HOME RUN DERBY AND CHARITY EVENT. IT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. AT THIS TIME WE HAVE COLLECTED OVER $2,400 IN PLEDGES AND DONATIONS TO BENEFIT OUR LEAGUE AND THE STRIKE 3 FOUNDATION.

EBBL COMPLEX RULES
 
These rules are designed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, coaches and players who visit the East Brunswick Baseball League’s Complex.
 

·      NO SMOKING OR USE OF OTHER TOBACCO PRODUCTS PERMITTED.  Smoking is only permitted in the Complex parking lot, away from the main sidewalk entrance to the Snack Bar area.

·      ALCOHOL IS STRICKLY PROHIBITED ANYWHERE ON THE PREMISES.

·       NO PETS.  Pets are not allowed ANYWHERE on the Complex grounds.

·      NO BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, ROLLER BLADING, ETC.

·     NO INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHING. This includes clothing with inappropriate language and/or pictures. Please remember the Complex is being used for YOUTH sports.

·       NO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND/OR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT. Inappropriate language and/or actions on the Complex grounds will not be tolerated.

·        Parents are responsible for picking up trash in and around their spectator area and dugout.

·        Parents are responsible for the conduct, behavior and safety of their children.

·        Parents and/or children should not be in Areas designated for “Coaches and Players” only.

·      NO SOFT TOSS HITTING: soft toss hitting against any Complex fence is prohibitted.

Latest Rule Changes for 2012

Babe Ruth League, Inc. has been informed that Nike Bat Model #Aero CX2-BTO636 (light grey), CX2-BTO573 (dark grey) and CX2-BTO598 (blue) have failed recent performance standard compliance testing.
 
Effective immediately and until further notice, Nike Bat Model #Aero CX2-BTO636 (light grey), CX2-BTO573 (dark grey) and CX2-BTO598 (blue), including all graphic variations, is not eligible, or approved, for use in any Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken program or activity.
 
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has advised Babe Ruth League, Inc. that the BBCOR decertification process has been implemented for the Marucci CAT5 33-inch model.
 
 Effective immediately and until further notice, this bat (Marucci CAT5 33” length) is not eligible, or approved, for use in any Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken program or activity.
 
 

CAL RIPKEN BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 33”in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 ¼” in diameter.  Only 2 ¼” barrel non-wood bats marked BPF 1.15 will be allowed.  Wood 2 ¼” barrel bats are allowed.

13-15 BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 34” in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 5/8” in diameter.  All aluminum/alloy barrel bats and all composite handle (only) aluminum/alloy barrels are allowed.  Only composite barrel bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 will be allowed.  Wood barrel bats conforming to the specifications of Official Baseball Rule 1.10 are allowed.

16-18 BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 34” in length and the bat barrel many not exceed 2 5/8” in diameter or be greater than a -3 length to weight ratio.  Only metal/composite bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 are allowed.  Wood barrel bats conforming to the specifications of Official Baseball Rule 1.10 are allowed.

PENALTY

  • If the illegal bat is discovered prior to a batter completing his “at bat” the bat is simply removed from play and the “at bat” continues.

  • A player who uses an illegal bat or non-conforming barrel dimension and hits a fair ball will be ruled out.  No advancement on the bases will be allowed, and any outs during the play shall stand.  This is an appeal play.  The “at bat” will be considered legal once a pitch is thrown to the next batter.

  • Any bat discovered prior to the game that does not conform to the above rule shall be directed to be removed immediately and not be allowed for use during the game.
