WORKBOND OPPORTUNITIES

There are a number of Dates and Activities coming up that provide opportunities to satisfy your work bond  please see the following and use on the appropriate link to signup via Volunteer Sign up:

 

 

NEW:

COMPLEX CLOSING SAT NOV  1st

 

There is a workbond opportunity on Saturday morning, November 1st to
help close down the complex for the winter.  Come out and complete your
2014 fall workbond obligation or get a head start by completing your 2015
workbond obligation. Duties will include but are not limited to: taking
down banners on fields 1 and 2, taking down batting cage nets, thorough
cleaning of snack bar, cleaning out shed.

EBBL Announced the slate of Board of Directors for 2014-15 at last nights General Membership Meeting.   The new board will become effective following the October  General Membership meeting (Date to be announced).  We would like to thank all our volunteers, participants and outgoing board members for making 2014 a successful season and wish the new board all the best for 2015.

Delicious Food from Carrabba’s Italian Grill of East Brunswick

 

 

The  Derby is a fund raising event to help raise money for the league and this year’s selected charity, The Strike 3 Foundation. The Strike 3 Foundation is a not-for-profit public charity recognized by the IRS under 501(c)(3) that heightens awareness,mobilizes support, and raises funding for childhood cancer research.     For more about Strike 3  go to www.strike3foundation.org

Autism RibbonIn order to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism, the Autism Society has been celebrating National Autism Awareness Month since the 1970s and EBBL will continue to collect donations throughout the season.

 

 

 

 

 

And a very heartwarming thanks for our friends at Carrabba’s Italian Grill of East Brunswick for providing us with this delicious menu;

All of Carrabba’s items will be $3.00 and 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit EBBL, Autism Awareness and Pediatric Cancer Research

EBBL COMPLEX RULES
 
These rules are designed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all spectators, coaches and players who visit the East Brunswick Baseball League’s Complex.
 

·      NO SMOKING OR USE OF OTHER TOBACCO PRODUCTS PERMITTED.  Smoking is only permitted in the Complex parking lot, away from the main sidewalk entrance to the Snack Bar area.

·      ALCOHOL IS STRICKLY PROHIBITED ANYWHERE ON THE PREMISES.

·       NO PETS.  Pets are not allowed ANYWHERE on the Complex grounds.

·      NO BICYCLES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, ROLLER BLADING, ETC.

·     NO INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHING. This includes clothing with inappropriate language and/or pictures. Please remember the Complex is being used for YOUTH sports.

·       NO INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND/OR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT. Inappropriate language and/or actions on the Complex grounds will not be tolerated.

·        Parents are responsible for picking up trash in and around their spectator area and dugout.

·        Parents are responsible for the conduct, behavior and safety of their children.

·        Parents and/or children should not be in Areas designated for “Coaches and Players” only.

·      NO SOFT TOSS HITTING: soft toss hitting against any Complex fence is prohibitted.

Latest Rule Changes for 2012

Babe Ruth League, Inc. has been informed that Nike Bat Model #Aero CX2-BTO636 (light grey), CX2-BTO573 (dark grey) and CX2-BTO598 (blue) have failed recent performance standard compliance testing.
 
Effective immediately and until further notice, Nike Bat Model #Aero CX2-BTO636 (light grey), CX2-BTO573 (dark grey) and CX2-BTO598 (blue), including all graphic variations, is not eligible, or approved, for use in any Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken program or activity.
 
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has advised Babe Ruth League, Inc. that the BBCOR decertification process has been implemented for the Marucci CAT5 33-inch model.
 
 Effective immediately and until further notice, this bat (Marucci CAT5 33” length) is not eligible, or approved, for use in any Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken program or activity.
 
 

CAL RIPKEN BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 33”in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 ¼” in diameter.  Only 2 ¼” barrel non-wood bats marked BPF 1.15 will be allowed.  Wood 2 ¼” barrel bats are allowed.

13-15 BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 34” in length, and the bat barrel may not exceed 2 5/8” in diameter.  All aluminum/alloy barrel bats and all composite handle (only) aluminum/alloy barrels are allowed.  Only composite barrel bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 will be allowed.  Wood barrel bats conforming to the specifications of Official Baseball Rule 1.10 are allowed.

16-18 BASEBALL DIVISION
The bat may not exceed 34” in length and the bat barrel many not exceed 2 5/8” in diameter or be greater than a -3 length to weight ratio.  Only metal/composite bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 are allowed.  Wood barrel bats conforming to the specifications of Official Baseball Rule 1.10 are allowed.

PENALTY

  • If the illegal bat is discovered prior to a batter completing his “at bat” the bat is simply removed from play and the “at bat” continues.

  • A player who uses an illegal bat or non-conforming barrel dimension and hits a fair ball will be ruled out.  No advancement on the bases will be allowed, and any outs during the play shall stand.  This is an appeal play.  The “at bat” will be considered legal once a pitch is thrown to the next batter.

  • Any bat discovered prior to the game that does not conform to the above rule shall be directed to be removed immediately and not be allowed for use during the game.
