I think we played well, but use more communication on both offense and defense.
I thought we did very good passing as a team but, we could work on our communication skills.
We played a great fast game, we just weren't used to playing on the turf.
Missed Opportunities
The Blaze heat for their home opener was smothered by a Storm as they could not get it together for the full 70 minutes of soccer. The dependable Blaze defense was also absent as the Blaze fell 3-0. The game was blazing hot with missed offensive opportunities as the Blaze failed to score on corner kick after corner kick.
The Blaze did put together a brilliant display of hot passing but in the end there were “one too many passes” or “too many touches” resulting in missed scoring opportunities.
Perhaps this will be the “bad day” all teams have in which case it would be good to get it over with at the beginning of this season rather than at the end. This Blaze team has a full roster of great players with even greater potential and if they will burn together there is no doubt their competition will Feel the Heat.

BLAZE FAMILY LOVE
Few teams can come together with the level of love and support for one another the way this Blaze team does. The Blaze flame is an eternal flame that contains this family long after the game has ended. FEEL THE LOVE!
Pleasant in Pleasanton.
The Blaze seemed to cool their jets as they entered Pleasanton this weekend. They began hot enough with a 2-2 tie but in the second game on the first day the Blaze heat was as cool as the other side of the pillow.
On the second day however the Blaze, united in pink as they paid tribute to an eternal flame, they found the way to get it done by finishing third in true Blaze fashion. With strong defense and the ability to take advantage of scoring opportunities the Blaze heat reached the winners circle.
Way to go Blaze!! 1, 2, 3, FEEL THE HEAT!

NO PLACE BUT 1ST PLACE!: EG SUN STROKE
The heat of the Blaze could not be contained this weekend in their home town for the 2008 Sun Stroke Tournament. The Blaze showed their full resolve with two come from behind wins to take home the Championship trophy.
With the pile-up of injuries carried over from last week, the team had to dig deep to find the strength to lift the cup. Each and every Blaze flame has raised their game to a higher level. The Blaze faced very talented opponents who gave a valiant effort to cool the Blaze heat.
It took overtime for the Blaze to pull out the win for the championship. With smart play the Blaze held off some X-Treme attempts to put out the Blaze fire.
Way to go Blaze! 1, 2, 3 FEEL THE HEAT!

FUN, SUN AND SOCCER IN TRACY
The Blaze used scoring pressure to extinguish their competition at this weekend’s tournament and made it to the championship game. The Blaze began the weekend as a scoring machine as they maneuvered the ball toward the goal. Every Blaze player played hard, played fair and played together as a team.
In the championship game however the Blaze lost several key players to injury. Overall the Blaze have shown improvement and growth in every game as each individual flame improves their skills for their position and the skills necessary to burn hot in positions that they are asked to play when needed. The Blaze finished second in the tournament but were #1 as OUR BEST SOCCER TEAM> in Tracy this past weekend. 1, 2, 3, FEEL THE HEAT!!!>

Planting the Seed
Field conditions were perfect for seed planting; soggy, wet and some hot Blaze heat.
The Blaze performance showed a much improved offense compared to last season with a consistent defense. The benefits of the 3v3 were on early display but the Blaze players seemed water logged in the second game. The 3rd and 4th games however the Blaze cooked themselves up to a simmer then flambéed the w(h)ine of the competition.
Judging by how the games went we should end up like the north end goalie, firmly planted where we stand.

3V3
The Blaze first 3v3 experience was a grand success. While the cool Blaze performance did not ignite the dry conditions of the fields the Blaze were hot enough to smolder into the winners circle by placing 3rd and 5th.
The Blaze took advantage of the opportunity to prepare for upcoming tournaments. 3v3 provided the Blaze team valuable lessons that can get lost in the 11v11 games and overlooked in practices.
The upcoming seeding should reveal the benefits of the 3v3 as we begin to heat up the season. 1, 2, 3, GO BLAZE!!!
