There’s big news for East Hanover residents. In case you haven’t heard, two local youth football organizations have merged and joined forces to create one bigger, better organization. The East Hanover Soldiers and the South Hanover Knights became one organization beginning January 2011 to form a new organization called the Lower Dauphin Youth Football Association. The new team name, The Warriors, encompasses the fighting spirit of both organizations’ prior team names.
The Lower Dauphin Warriors is a youth sports organization open to all Lower Dauphin School District residents offering both football and cheerleading to boys and girls ages 5-14. The team levels are: Smurf (ages 5-8); Pee Wee (ages 8-10); Pony (ages 11-12); and Midget (ages 12-14). Weight restrictions for football players are enforced for each level and take precedence over age. The Warriors will be members of the CFA, a local football league that has been a powerhouse in the area for over 40 years.
The Warriors will strive to provide a positive and constructive environment for everyone. The fundamentals of football and cheerleading will be taught, along with important lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, and self confidence. If your son or daughter is interested in playing or cheering, or if you are a parent that would like to become involved in coaching, please visit our website for more information at www.leaguelineup.com/ldyfa We welcome your participation!
