The 11U Elite Midwest Stars-Miken team earned a 4th place finish in their first tournament 2013 playing in the the Kick-Off Classic NIT in Des Moines, IA.  On Saturday, the Stars went 1-0-1 (tying in the second game that was stopped for time limit).  Then took home the fourth place finish out of 13 teams on Sunday. 

Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a successful weekend in Iowa. It was the Stars first USSSA 11U Major tournament of 2013.  The 4th place finish is even more impressive since it was the first time the Stars were able to get outside on a baseball field.  

The Stars earned 160 USSSA ranking points and currently ranked 29th out of 68 11U Major teams in Region 4.  The Elite Midwest Stars - Miken are the first Wisconsin based team to play in a USSSA tournament this season and will play again a couple weeks in Iowa for their second tournament.

Our Elite Baseball Academy Extra Innings Foundation has been created to help extend the life of your children’s used baseball equipment and apparel so others can play this great game of baseball. If you are looking to do something productive with your children’s out grown equipment that may be cluttering your garage or house, we can help find an organization that will be able to help it play “extra innings.”

Offer your child’s gently used equipment and apparel that they can no longer use another chance to play extra innings in a different part of the world. All usable equipment and apparel collected will be re-distributed to organizations in need from across the world by the Elite Baseball Academy. Our first distribution of the donated items will happen in the Dominican Republic as we travel to Santiago, D.R. on August 5, 2012. All collections for this distribution will need to be complete by Friday, August 3, 2012. We have been informed that they are in need of bats, helmets, cleats, shoes, gloves, balls and possibly uniforms and baseball pants. The donations will determine the number of boxes of equipment we will bring for the Dominican players in need. If you are looking to donate items for our D.R. trip, please do so soon. Items donated that do not go with us on our trip will be shipped to other areas of the United States or around the world who express a need for baseball equipment.

If you do not have equipment to donate, but would like to help players around the world receive our donated equipment, you can donate money to help with the shipping of the boxes to their final destinations. 100% of all the monies donated will be used to ship the donated equipment.

The Elite Midwest Stars finished their Fall travel Season with a clean sweep of three Chicagoland travel teams, winning the their first 11U Championship at the Beloit Fall Classic! This was the second tournament with "live baseball" rules and the Stars played on their largest field to date with the 50' mound and 70' bases. The Stars beat Titan Baseball 7-4 in game one, followed by a 12-4 victory over the Lake in the Hills Pirates. In the night cap under the lights, the final game of the round robin worked out to be the championship game. The Stars jumped out to an early lead over the Frankfurt Rhino Baseball Team. In the top of the 4th inning the Rhino's cut the lead to 7-6. The Stars responded two runs in the bottom of the 4th then put them away with five more runs in the 5th pushing the lead to 14-6 that stood up as the final score. Dayne Gamoke earned the wins in game one and three with Josh Hauser earning the win in game two. Jess Ondell shut the door in two games earning two saves in the tourney. Offensively, the Stars outscored their opponents 33-14 for the weekend. In the Championship Game Jared Everson, Cameron Weber and Jess Ondell each had an extra base hit while Nevin Wall, Caleb Matl and Everson all added two RBI's. For the weekend, Ondell totaled seven hits while Eric Augedahl tallied six hits! Congratulations to all the Stars players on their third Championship this Fall. For the entire Fall season, the Stars posted a 13-1 Overall Record. The Stars earned one 3rd Place finish in MN, one Championship in IL and two Championships in WI. Congratulations on a great inaugaral season for the Elite Midwest Stars 10U Select Travel Baseball Team. All of the players represented the Elite Baseball Academy extremely well on and off the field.
