Major Field Upgrades Underway !
Major upgrades to both Testa and Davis fields are underway. The EYB Board of Directors, Village of Endicott Parks Committe and Town of Union worked together to secure Community Development funding to improve the safety at these two fields.

Over the fall and spring months you will dramatic changes at both fields which includes plans for, new spectator seating areas, team dugouts, backtops, and fencing. Additional work will be done in the spring to enhance the condition of the playing surface as well.

This is an exciting announcement for the league which enters its 59th season in 2010.

Drive by the fields over the next few months and see the transformation.

Lights Coming to Davis Field
The 2010 season will include a significant upgrade to Davis Field. Contruction for new Musco field lighting is already underway offering the Endicott Youth Softball program better use of the field. Musco Lighting specializes in the design and manufacture of systems for lighting recreation and athletic fields.

This energy efficient system will enhance the playing conditions for the players on the playing surface while decreasing off-site spill light for the neighbors.

This is a major announcement for the program which started in 1974.

How Does EYB Handle Rainouts ?
The EYB Board of Directors has created a distribution list which include email addresses for all managers and team parents in EYB. An email will be sent as soon as a decision is made to cancel a game. Managers will then be notified of the rescheduled date.

Based upon the fact that a decision may not be made until right up to game time, all coaches & players are still to expected to come to the field ready to play. The same holds true on a weekend game. There may be days when it rains early but stops and while the fields may need extra work , the games may still be played. We ask that the parents from both teams work together to prepare the fields for our children to play on. This will help get the game played sooner.

If games have started and have to end due to the weather, those games will be rescheduled and managers will be notified.

Thanks to all parents, managers, and board members for a successful Opening Day ! The weather was perfect, all games were played, and the Chicken BBQ was excellent. Truly a memorable day.

Special thank you to Kevin Hayes and Pete Peguero for the planning and cooking for the Chicken BBQ. This event started months ago and the success we had was reflective of the effort.
