Kendal Eagles soar to B Championship victory
Congrats to Chad Maartense and the Kendal Eagles, hosts and winners of the Senior Men's B Championship Tournament played over the Labour Day weekend.
The Eagles faced a tough Chatham Brewers team in game 1, and Phil Cammisuli tossed a complete game shutout in a close ballgame.
In game 2, Troy Foster took a perfect game into the 6th inning and didn't allow a hit until the 7th inning as the Eagles cruised to a 5-1 victory over the New Lowell Knights.
In game 3, Nick Stacey pitched another complete game for Kendal as they topped the Tillsonburg Red Sox by an 8-5 score.
Game 4 saw the Eagles take on Exeter. Kendal sent veteran Jason Carroll to the mound, and Carroll delivered yet another complete with the Eagles coming out on top 5-1.
Undefeated, and needing to be beaten twice in the finals Kendal sent Phil Cammisuli back to the mound. The young righty picked up his second win of the tournament with Troy Foster picking up the save as the Eagles defeated the London Bulls 2-1 to capture the tournament victory.
The Eagles went 5-0 over the weekend, outscoring the opposition 22-8 and only allowed more than 1 run against in one game.
Congrats to the Eagles on a well deserved victory.
In other news, the Port Hope Flyers repeated as C level champs in Orillia. Congrats to Bernie Alldred and the Flyers on their victory.
