Meet The Blizzard #20 Peterson
October 31, 2011 — The next player to be showcased in our Meet The Blizzard Segment is #20 Nick Peterson. Nick is a 20 year old Erie, PA Native and a graduate of McDowell High School. He is currently in his second season in the Continental Junior Hockey League. He spent some time last season with the Niagara Fury. Nick is a 6' 0" 220 pound forward and is excited to be on his hometown team. Nick is looking to move on to a NCAA or ACHA College team. He currently has recorded 3 goals for 3 points and 13 minutes in the box in 2 games so far this season. Nick will be look to lead the team physically for the Blizzard.
Meet The Blizzard #15 Friedman
October 24, 2011 — The next player we would like to introduce in our Meet The Blizzard Segment is #15 Brennan Friedman. Brennan is a 20 year old Buffalo, NY native. He would like to get noticed by an ACHA or NCAA team and wants to become a Firefighter when he hangs up the skates.
He is a 5' 8" 165 pound defense men and spent last season with the Wheatfield Jr. Blades (GOJHL) where he recorded 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points in 16 games. He is a physical stay at home defense men and with his veteran presence he will be looked upon to shut down the other teams scorers.
Meet The Blizzard #30 Schwartz
October 17, 2011 — The Next player we would like to showcase in our Meet The Blizzard segment is #30 Ronnie Schwartz. Ronnie is an 18 year old Aurora, Ohio native and a graduate of Aurora High School. Ronnie is looking to get noticed by a tier 2 team en route to his goal of playing NCAA hockey.
As a 6' 1" 165 pound Goalie he is a Andrew Raycroft type player. He relies on his angles and reflexes to shutdown the opposing team. Last season with the Aurora Greenmen (GCHSHL) he had a record of 5 wins, 18 losses and 3 ties in 26 games. He compiled a goals aggainst average of 3.87 and a save percentage of .908. Ronnie will look to continue to keep his save percentage over 90% to help the Blizzard compete for the Continental Cup.
Meet The Blizzard #13 Skorka
October 10, 2011 — The thrid player to be spotlighted in our Meet The Blizzard segment is #13 Jon Skorka. Jon is a 19 year old from Cheektowaga, New York and a Graduate of Cleveland Hill High School. He is currently a freshmen at Jamestown Community College where he is majoring in Physical Education. When Jon hangs up the skates he is looking to stay in the hockey ranks as a Coach or a General Manager.
Jon is a Defense men with the ability to play Forward when needed. He spent last season with the Buffalo Stars (CHA) where in 30 games he racked up 3 goals and 11 assists for 16 points. In the CHA playoffs Jon had 1 assist in 2 games. At 5' 10" 170 pounds he is a Mark Streit type player with his smooth skating style and ability to create offense off the rush. Jon will be looked to quaterback the power play as 9 of his 16 poinst came on the power play last season.
Why Erie Blizzard Hockey?
October 9, 2011 — Every year the same question is asked by players and parents as they try and decide what the best path to achieve their hockey objectives. There are many alternatives available. According to a survey of college coaches the most heavily scouted leagues were all at the level of Junior Hockey. The Erie Blizzard Hockey Club provides many opportunities for a player to improve and showcase their individual and team skills. The opportunities are provided through a schedule of highly competitive league games and participation in showcase and league tournaments. Additionally,the Erie Blizzard Hockey Club frequently provide additional training and educational opportunities that enhance the player’s educational and current training programs.

Junior Hockey is the pinnacle of the skill development program offered by the Erie Blizzard, and the ultimate challenge for players wishing to test themselves and retain their amateur status. Erie Blizzard Hockey is an alternative for exceptional athletes who demand a greater challenge than that provided by prep school teams, high school varsity or club teams, or area midget teams. The purpose of The Erie Blizzard Hockey Club is to develop and prepare the exceptional athlete for career advancement either in collegiate programs and/or professional opportunities.

Meet The Blizzard #7 Martin
October 3, 2011 — The Erie Blizzard would like to to introduce you to our next player in the Meet The Blizzard Segment. That player is Will Martin.
Will is an 18 year old Eagle Scout from Georgetown, Maryland and a graduate of Ambridge High School. Will would like to get noticed by an NCAA school where he would major in computer science. He wants to be an I.T. guy when he hangs up the skates. Will spent last season with the Quigly Spartans(PIHL) where he lead his team in points and was named to the PIHL All Star team. He recorded 29 goals and 19 assists for 48 points in just 19 games in the regular season. He then recorded 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points in just 2 games in the PIHL Tournament. As 5' 10" 170 pound Forward he is considered a Mike Cammallari type player with deceptive speed and a quick release. Martin will be looking to continue his ability to rack up points and be an offensive threat for the Blizzard this season.
