Inclement Weather Field Status
In case of poor weather on weeknights, check on field closures by calling the Fairfax County field hotline (703) 324-5264. Towers Park, Poplar Tree #4, Caffi Field, and South Run are all county fields and will close according to county rulings. Rachel Carson MS, Madison HS and Colin Powell ES may be open even if county fields are closed, so call your coach to determine game status.
In case of poor weather on Saturdays, your coach will have all the information on game status. We try to post status here as soon as it is known.
Umpire Notification for Game Cancellation
The inter-league house rules call for the host team's administrator (essentially whoever's field it is) to call the umpires in the event that a game is postponed due to weather, or in the absence of the administrator, the host teams' coach. Notice that I didn’t say home team, because that is not dependent on whose field it is. The umpires need to be notified, when possible, 2 hours before game time to avoid being charged for their time. The phone number for the umpires’ assignor is 703-350-5339 . The assignor is Judy Cole, and she should answer the phone. Please give her the field and time of the game being postponed.
