The Fairview Youth Athletic Association (FYAA) was formed in 2009 as a non-profit sports organization dedicated to providing the youth of the Fairview / Ellenwood community and surrounding areas a positive and enjoyable football experience. The major objective is to promote education, enhance and improve individual skills, teach good sportsmanship, fairness, honesty, and integrity in a competitive, yet supportive athletic environment. We want to continue to build a program that is Christ-centered and offers more than just learning the game of football, but also include mentoring to youth of all ages.

Henry County Heat Policy
In 2012, Henry County Parks and Recreation is taking a proactive effort to minimize the potential for heat related injuries in youth football and the safety of our young athletes. In wake of GHSA's announcement regarding new heat related procedures/rules for football, including later start times, Henry County Parks and Recreation will follow suit and adopt a similar policy for youth football. These rules apply to both the Recreation (HCYFL) & Select (SCFL) leagues with no exceptions.
As a result, No youth football teams (Rec or Select) may begin practice in Henry County in full pads (helmets, shoulder pads, etc) until Wednesday, August 1, 2012. In addition, Select teams may begin practice in late July; However, squads can only be dressed out in shorts, shirts and helmets.
Because of this new policy, the new practice and evaluation schedules for SCFL & HCYFL are as follows:
Monday, July 30th- SCFL practice - shorts, shirts and helmets only
(HCYFL Evaluations begin) - shorts, shirts and helmets only
Tuesday, July 31st -SCFL practice -shorts, shirts and helmets only
(HCYFL Evaluations DAY 2) - shorts, shirts and helmets only
Wednesday, August 1st -SCFL practice -Full pads allowed
(HCYFL Evaluations DAY 3) - Full pads allowed
Thursday, August 2nd - SCFL practice- Full pads allowed
(HCYFL Last day of Evaluations)- Full pads allowed
Saturday, August 4th - HCYFL Draft
Monday, August 6th - HCYFL First day of practice
Please ensure that this policy change is communicated promptly to all of your association coaches. For the safety of our youth there are no exceptions to this policy.
