Welcome to the 27th Annual North Reading
Fall Kick-off Classic Soccer Tournament

August 25-27, 2017

The Fall Kick-off Classic continues a long-standing tradition of support to youth soccer in the town of North Reading. The tournament has grown over the past 26 years and continues to strive in so many ways. The goal of the The Classic is to provide a well-organized event that makes everyone feel comfortable in the local small town atmosphere. Our continued goal is to provide a tournament that keeps all the games and events in close and simple venues.

The drive of the volunteers and the community seems never ending and the tournament grows stronger each year. Just taking a few moments to watch the players and you can see why so many of the volunteers feel such a sense of reward and satisfaction from the enjoyment they can help provide. The smiles, laughter and the camaraderie of the players is enough to make our Classic crew return year after year with fond memories and a true thirst for more of that feeling of gratification. What started as a way to give the kids a better soccer experience continues each year, and after twenty-six years the Classic is still kicking stronger than ever.

Each year, North Reading Youth Soccer is fortunate enough to host the preseason Fall Kick-off Classic. The support of so many is a tribute to the sincerity and commitment to the youth of not only North Reading, but to all that come to visit this area. Twenty-four years is a significant number in so many ways, but nothing as significant as the many years of tireless work of so many people. The amount of work and effort given to each year’s tournament is overwhelming. Each year the amount of time and support is truly inspiring. As the players, coaches and spectators come and enjoy the event, those hours of giving turn into hours of pride and sense of accomplishment, a feeling that North Reading has plenty to offer to the people of our town and to our guests and neighbors.

It is North Reading Youth Soccer’s pleasure to play host to more than 1,500 soccer players over this preseason weekend, and we hope you will enjoy and partake in the rich tradition that was built from the foresight of so many dedicated individuals.

The tournament would like to recognize the efforts of last year’s 26th Annual Classic winners:

BU14 – North Reading Rangers
GU14 D1 – Needham Lightning
GU14 D2 – Wilmington Wildcats (Fischer)
BU12 D1– North Reading Stingers
GU12 D1 – Andover Everest
GU12 D2 -- North Andover Red Sparks

This year’s tournament will be played at three venues. The main site and tournament headquarters is at Maguire Field. Our secondary site will be at the 44-acre Ipswich River Park and our third will be the North Reading High School. Maguire and IRP offer play areas for children who may not be participating in the tournament. We hope you take advantage of the numerous restaurants and businesses in the area.

For those local U12 & U14 teams wanting to play on a Friday night, possibly under the lights on the NR High School turf, please make a notation in the comments section at registration or email the tournament director directly.

Welcome to all that have not played here before and welcome back to all that have – always glad to have you back at The Classic.
