FishHawk Coyotes Youth Lacrosse
|
Spots are still available for our Rec and Youth divisions. Register soon!
The FishHawk Coyotes are still accepting registrations for our Rec (First grade – 4th grade) and Youth divisions (5th-6th grade). The Middle school team has been filled and those who would like to be placed on the waiting list should contact Brian Lemon at 689-2070 or email him at blemon@nll.com.
For our Rec and Youth Divisions, registration will close once the cap of players has been met or by November 13th, 2009 and a waiting list will begin. The Coyotes will have at least one team per division; Rec, Youth and Middle school. In the event that there is field space available at the FishHawk Sports Complex to accommodate two teams per division, the Coyotes will hold tryouts to determine the players on each team. Higher skilled players will be playing together on one team while developing players will be playing together on the other. 6th grade players will be divided according to their skill level to determine whether they play on the youth team or middle school team. Players will be notified by November 16th to confirm their spot on a team.
The Coyotes are a member of the West Florida Lacrosse League and will play a travel schedule amongst other members in and around the Tampa Bay area. The Coyotes will begin practicing in December. Games begin in January until mid April. On average, there will be two lacrosse practices per week. It is expected the Rec division will play approximately 8-10 games, Youth will play approximately 10-12 games, and Middle school will play approximately 12-14 games. There will be speed and agility sessions provided by the Coyotes alliance with MegaSports for each division.
Cost for registration is as follows:
- Rec Division - $175
- Youth Division - $195
- Middle School Division - $225 (Registration Closed)
All players will receive the following as part of their registration fee:
- MegaSports training sessions
- Game jersey & shorts (which players keep)
- Individual trophies at the end of the season
The Coyotes will be offering a trip to Orlando to watch the National Lacrosse League Orlando Titans professional lacrosse club play on March 20th. Players will be able to play on the turf at half time as well as other perks.
Players will be provided the following equipment, if needed: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves and a practice jersey. A $200 deposit will be required upon equipment pick up day. The check will not be cashed provided all the equipment is returned in proper working order.
Should any players participate in a non-lacrosse MegaSports speed training program during off-practice days, players receive a 50% discount.
Coyotes Lacrosse is a non-profit program and its success & growth is credited to our dedicated parents who have volunteered their time to help our program become a success. We ask our Coyote parents to fulfill 5 volunteer shifts throughout the season which can be done during practices & game days. The volunteer duties range from concession duty, statistician, announcer, scorekeeper, etc. This is a great way to not only support your child's team & our community, but it's a great way to get to know other parents! Our Volunteer Scheduler, Dianne O'Malley, will be working with your "Team Mom/Dad" to schedule your shifts...keep your eyes open for the schedule early in the season. Parents are encouraged and required to participate in the Coyotes Volunteer Program. When you sign your player up on-line, you acknowledge and agree to the above. If for any reason you cannot fulfill your volunteer duties, you have an option to pay an "Opt Out" fee of $55. You can pay this fee when you register your player on-line.
Players must be a member of US Lacrosse, which is an annual $25 dollar fee. Enter in your membership number on the Coyotes website. This must be completed before signing up for the Coyotes.
