Congratulations to the Fresno Force Hartsburg Team for placing Tied for 3rd out of 43 teams
At the Triple Crown Pre-Thanksgiving Cup in West Covina
I would like to Welcome you to the Fresno Force 14U Hartsburg. My name is John Hartsburg and I have been coaching for eighteen years. I have played baseball most of my life. But having two beautiful daughters, I have transitioned to softball.
I graduated from Lemoore High School and played baseball for Reedly College for 3 years. I transferred to Fresno State where I earned a B.A., Teaching Credential and a Master's Degree in Education.
I started my coaching Career at Riverdale High School where I was an Assistant Football Coach and Head JV Baseball Coach. After 2 years I had the opportunity to take over struggling Baseball Program. In my 4 years as Varsity Head Baseball Coach, our team improved from 4-22 to 17-10 making the Playoffs for the first time in 20 years.
After 6 years at Riverdale, I transfered to Central Unified where I taught 4th, 5th and 8th grade. I Coached Baseball, Basketball, Football and was the Athletic Director at the Elementary level. I also became a Catchers Coach for Central High Varsity Baseball Team for two years. I also Coached the Central Grizzlies 10U B travel ball team, Liddell Soccer, and Central Rec.
We then moved to Clovis, I became a Coach for the Clovis Bullets. In my two years as a Coach for the Bullets, I became the Vice President and President of the organization. I took my Clovis Bullets12U team (33-11 Record) and placed 17 out of 52 teams at Western Nationals.
As a coach, I believe in being Positive with my players. The game of softball is a game of failure. The game beats you up enough. I hold the girls accountable, while instructing them on how to fix their mistake the next play. I believe that softball is great opportunity to teach our players how to work hard, overcome adversity and be good teammates.
My goal for this season is to create a Family of players who will continue through high school as a team. I am in this for the long haul. I am highly invested in the team and will do my best to make sure your daughters have the best opportunity to reach their Softball and College Goals.
I hope to see you at Tryouts.
