Congratulations to the junior team winning the 2022 Double Play Western Maryland Appalachian Classic. GREAT BASEBALL all weekend. Everything clicked this weekend - outstanding pitching, hitting, and defense. The team scored 43 runs in 4 games.  

• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion Beats Woodsboro Post 282 Senior Legion By 11 Runs
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion sailed to an easy victory over Woodsboro Post 282 Senior Legion 14-3 on Tuesday
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion fired up the offense in the first inning, when Erik Thomas homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion put up six runs in the fourth inning. Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion big bats were led by Thomas, Hunter Hacunda, Kyle Cruz, and Brady MacDonald, who each had RBIs in the inning.
• Cruz led the Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion to victory on the pitcher's mound. Cruz went four innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out two and walking one.
• Adam Dellamura took the loss for Woodsboro Post 282 Senior Legion . Dellamura surrendered 11 runs on ten hits over three innings, striking out one.

• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion socked one home run on the day. Thomas had a four bagger in the first inning.

Frederick American Legion Post 11 has success in South Carolina

Frederick Post 11 recently played 4 games in Myrtle Beach, SC, winning 3 and tying 1.

In game one, Post 11 tied Wayne NC Post 11, 3-3 as the game was called after 5 innings.  Hunter Hacunda had two doubles, Devon Coldren and Kyle Cruz pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.

Frederick defeated Ottawa OH 5 – 2 in game two.  Ryan DeSanto got the win, pitched 5.2 innings, striking out 13 batters.  Johnny Dysinger got the save pitching the last 1.1 innings.  Logan Keepers and Drew DeSanto each had two hits, including a double.

In game three, Frederick defeated Potomac Valley Post 64, 5 – 3.  Erik Thomas got the win pitching 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 5 strikeouts.  Drew DeSanto pitched the last 1.1 innings to get the save. Danny Orr had a triple and RBI.

In the final game, Brady MacDonald pitched a gem, going 6 innings in Frederick’s 1 – 0 win.  MacDonald allowed 6 hits and struck out 3 batters.  Drew DeSanto pitched the seventh inning to get the save.  Logan Keepers had two hits and Erik Thomas had a double.

The defense played extremely well during the tournament and in the 3 wins committed no errors.  Special thanks to Post 11 Junior players Caleb Dillman and Tyler O’Brien who joined the team in Myrtle Beach to catch the Senior pitchers which allowed six earned runs in four games.

• Two Pitchers Work Together As Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion Shuts Out St. Clairesville
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion defeated St. Clairesville 1-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Drew Desanto induced a groundout from Jake Heatherington to finish off the game.
• The pitching was strong on both sides. Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion pitchers struck out three, while Dylan Gregorcle sat down six.
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion.
• A single by Heatherington in the first inning was a positive for St. Clairesville.
• Brady MacDonald took the win for Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion. • Logan Keepers went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion in hits. Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion didn't commit a single error in the field. Kyle Cruz had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
• St. Clairesville totaled six hits in the game. Heatherington and Evan White each had multiple hits for St. Clairesville.

• Potomac Valley Post 64 Almost Erases 5-Run Deficit In Loss To Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion built a five-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Potomac Valley Post 64's charge for a 5-3 victory on Saturday. Potomac Valley Post 64 tallied three runs in the failed comeback. Grant Landis and Karson Reed each picked up RBIs.
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion got things moving in the second inning, when an error scored one run for Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion.
• Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion put up three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Logan Keepers, a triple by Danny Orr, and a single by Hunter Hacunda.

• Despite allowing four runs in the third inning, Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion defeated Mt. Airy Post 191 18-6 on Sunday. Mt. Airy Post 191 's big inning was driven by singles by Tommy and Dirk.
• There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion collected 12 hits and Mt. Airy Post 191 had three.
• In the first inning, Frederick Post 11 Senior Legion got their offense started. Danny Orr drove in two when Orr doubled.
