 FYFA SUPPORTS HEADS UP FOOTBALL

USA Football's Heads Up Tackling is a step by step protocol to teach the core principles of the skill and sets a new standard in player safety. The program utilizes five fundamentals through a series of drills to reinforce proper tackling mechanics and teach players how to properly tackle with a focus on reducing helmet contacts.

RESULTS:

From the Friendswood Mustangs Huddles and Heels Committee:

This year, the FHS Football Athletic Department would like to purchase 75 White Football Helmets for the Mustangs. If you would like to participate in this opportunity, we are accepting the first 75 donors.

By donating an FHS White Helmet,  your family will be recognized by receiving your name on the FHS White Helmet Donor Banner and in the 2014-15 FHS Football Program.  You will also receive a special car decal that only 75 people will have designating you as an FHS Helmet Donor. As we move into 6A competition, this is a great opportunity to show your support for the new Era of Mustang Football.

Several helmet donations have already been received, so please act immediately if you would like to participate.  The cost of the donation is $300 per helmet.  This amount can be paid by check or by PayPal as indicated on the attached flyer. This is a donation to our football program and there is absolutely no obligation to participate.

Thank you for supporting your Friendswood Mustang Football Team

Broncos History

Until 2005, Friendswood had only 2 youth football clubs. Even though these clubs had waiting lists of kids who wanted to play football, neither were willing to expand to accommodate these kids. Both chose to remain "exclusive". Youth football in Friendswood remained limited to members of these exclusive clubs while literally hundreds of kids were turned away and denied the opportunity to play.

The Broncos are Born:
In 2006, a group of dedicated parents started FYFA (Friendswood Youth Football Association) with the goal of giving every kid in Friendswood the opportunity to play football. FYFA would have open registration, not waiting lists. They would make as many teams as necessary to accommodate all the kids. They chose the mascot "Broncos".

FYFA decided to affiliate with the South Texas Youth Football Assocation (STYFA), whose member chapters are all open-registration programs, like FYFA's.

The concept proved so popular, that by the 2008 season, 400 kids were playing Broncos football. 400 kids who, just a few years before, would not have even had the chance to play.

The 2011 season was the Broncos 6th, and the Broncos Family grew to over 500 kids!
