FYFA 7 on 7 - Spring Touch Football registration now open!!!

Attention: Quarterbacks, Receivers, Running Backs, Tight Ends,
Defensive Backs, and Linebackers!

This 7-on-7 passing league is a competitive, one-hand touch football program that specifically enables quarterbacks, receivers, running backs, defensive backs, linebackers and other skill players to improve their skills. The game is
fast paced, exciting and challenging. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for young football players to improve their passing, catching, and
defensive skills. It will also improve player speed, agility, and quickness because of its fast pace and one-on-one play that is required. The game is
played with a quarterback and receivers on offense (i.e., no offensive lineman blocking) and defensive backs and linebackers on defense (i.e., no defensive lineman rushing the quarterback). Most Texas High School’s play 7-on-7 during the summer months culminating in a state-wide tournament.

Player eligibility: current 4th/5th grade and 6th/7th grade
Cost: $100 per player.
• Games on Sunday afternoons to minimize conflicts with baseball and lacrosse.
Game dates: April 3, April 10, April 24, May 8
• Total of 8 games in regular season. Two games per day.
• End of Season Tournament May 15 (22nd if rainout)
• Teams will be drafted week of March 7
• All games played at Centennial park

Registration Deadline: March 1

10 YEAR BRONCOS FAMILY ANNIVERSARY PHOTO

THANKS TO ALL GMs:
First just a quick note of thanks to all of you getting the word out for our FYFA Broncos 10 Year Anniversary celebration.  We couldn't stop the rain but that didn’t dampen the spirits and it was a very successful event - we appreciate your help in getting the word out!

We have our Senior night this Wed night, Friendswood varsity high school game on Thur night, and we have flooded fields right now that will not be dry by Monday evening.  So our practice schedule for this week will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

On Wednesday we will honor our senior football players prior to the Broncos White vs Broncos Blue game that kickoff at 7pm on the main field.  If possible we encourage all teams including Flag, Fresh, Soph, and Jr teams to try to finish practice a little early on Wed and send your teams over to the main field watch the senior pre-game ceremony and the game.

TO ALL FYFA BOARD MEMBERS:
Thanks to the entire board for helping out on Saturday to get the BBQ prepared and serving.  Also thanks to the volunteers that helped sell t shirts.

Huge thanks to Mike Leggio for cooking the briskets!!!

As a Flashback, here is a photo of the 1st Broncos Practice Squad from 10 years back:

This year we were able to give seven scholarships! The Broncos award scholarships to promising Friendswood students who have participated in football or cheer and demonstrated strong character, leadership, a record of accomplishment, and determination to succeed in life.

Help make football and cheerleading available for all the youth in Friendswood.

Broncos History

Until 2005, Friendswood had only 2 youth football clubs. Even though these clubs had waiting lists of kids who wanted to play football, neither were willing to expand to accommodate these kids. Both chose to remain "exclusive". Youth football in Friendswood remained limited to members of these exclusive clubs while literally hundreds of kids were turned away and denied the opportunity to play.

The Broncos are Born:
In 2006, a group of dedicated parents started FYFA (Friendswood Youth Football Association) with the goal of giving every kid in Friendswood the opportunity to play football. FYFA would have open registration, not waiting lists. They would make as many teams as necessary to accommodate all the kids. They chose the mascot "Broncos".

FYFA decided to affiliate with the South Texas Youth Football Assocation (STYFA), whose member chapters are all open-registration programs, like FYFA's.

The concept proved so popular, that by the 2008 season, 400 kids were playing Broncos football. 400 kids who, just a few years before, would not have even had the chance to play.

The 2011 season was the Broncos 6th, and the Broncos Family grew to over 500 kids!
