The 2012 FYFL playoffs begin this Saturday, November 3 at McCurdy Field. Here is the schedule for the day, including team seedings -

9:00am - Flag - Lions (4) vs MSD Orange (3)
10:00am - Flag - MSD Black (5) vs Colts (2)
11:00am - JV - Packers (3) vs Lions (2)
12:00pm - JV - MSD (4) vs Colts (1)
1:00pm - Varsity - Knights (5) vs Packers (4)
2:30pm - Varsity - Lions (6) vs Colts (3)

** Flag Packers are the 1 seed and have a bye.
** Varsity MSD is the 1 seed and Titans are the 2 seed. Both have byes.

The 2012 FYFL banquets will be held December 5 and 6 at the Frederick Moose Lodge 371, which is near the Frederick Fair Grounds. They will start at 6pm both evenings. Players can EARN free admission by selling 10 raffle tickets - please see your coach about your raffle tickets. Banquet tickets will be on sale at the concession stand during all remaining FYFL games.

Wednesday, December 5 - Colts and Lions Banquet
Thursday, December 6 - MSD and Packers Banquet

Want to get involved in the FYFL this season, and be a part of the 50+ year tradition? There are several board member positions that are currently vacant, and additional good coaches are always needed. If you are interested, please contact the league via phone or e-mail.

If you registered online (on this website) you still need to come out to McCurdy Field. The registration process is not complete until you come out to McCurdy Field and get physical forms, get equipment and pay the registration fee. An athlete will NOT be placed on a team until the process is complete. We will be out at McCurdy Field Saturdays from 9am-noon and Wednesdays from 6-8pm during the months of June and July.

The Frederick Youth Football League is a non-profit organization charted to provide a positive after school program to assist our youth of Frederick County to achieve their highest potential as they develop their skill sets into caring, confident and competent individuals. Players ages 5-13*, male or female, who reside in Frederick County are eligible for play. Each season, approximately 250 children play on four varsity, junior varsity and flag teams. We are going into our 59th season, and hope you will join us for the upcoming 2012 season.

* Age cutoff is August 1st. 13 year olds entering the 9th grade are not eligible for play in FYFL. We encourage all Freshmen to play for their High School Team. *

Our objective is to implant firmly in the children of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence for authority so that they may be well adjusted, stronger, and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy citizens.

To achieve this objective FYFL will provide a supervised program under the rules and regulations of the league. All directors, officers, and members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills or the winning of game is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance.

Develop the fundamentals of the game of football - stance, blocking, tackling, running, throwing, catching, conditioning and sportsmanship.

Develop the fundamentals of cheerleading - cheers, chants, jumps, stunts, good health and fitness, and sportsmanship.

Establish an understanding of the commitment necessary by the parents and the athletes in order to enhance success, both on and off the field.
