Gallagher Select 12U Wins Ripken Championship
Congratulations to the Gallagher Select 12U team for winning the Cal Ripken Columbus Day Championship. The team went 6-0 on the weekend beating a very strong Gator Baseball Club (West Chester, NY) twice along the way. The first was a 6-4 battle during pool play, and the second was a thrilling 4-3 vitory in the championship.
Those who were in attendence during the championship were treated to watching Tommy Sheehan dominate unlike any other 12 year old around. He pitched 6 innings, allowed 4 hits, and struck out 12 again earning the tournament MVP.
This was the teams 5th championship in as many tournaments. This is a special group of kids, if anyone has a chance to get out a see them play, you should....they are a special group.
12U Select Wins Bid to National Championship in Disney
Congratulations to the Gallagher Select 12u team for winning the South Carolina USSSA Super NIT. By winning this tournament the team automatically qualifies for the USSSA Elite 32 World Series in Disney, Florida. The team went 5-0 throughout the tournament with wins over the North Carolina Cleveland Indians, Carolina Magic, East Cobb Longhorns, Elite Diamond Dawgs (SC), and Canes Baseball (SC).
They had a thrilling 5-4 semi-final win over the Diamond Dawgs. Trailing by one in the bottom of the 6th the team battled back to win with a David Bermudez walk off single. The momentum carried over to the championship where the bats exploded for a 15-3 victory.
This was the teams 4th championship in a row in as many tournaments. After defeating the #5 ranked team in the country over Labor Day, and now winning a Super NIT....the boys are certainly making a case to be considered one of the nations best.
Gallagher Select 12U Makes It 3 In A Row!
The Gallagher Select 12U team won their 3rd championship in a row this past weekend at Sports at the Beach. The team blasted through the competition going 5-0 and outscoring their opponents 52-8 for the tournament. Big Tommy Sheehan was named the tournament MVP after being his usual dominant self on the mound and crushing the ball at the plate. We are all excited to see the boys develop throughout the year as they continue their persuit of becoming one of the country's best teams. Keep up the hard work guys.
Gallagher Select 12U Wins at Diamond Nation
The Gallagher Select 12U team went 5-0 to win the Diamond Nation Fall Invitational tournament. This was their 2nd tournament win in as many chances. Nick Hohenstein was named the tournament MVP and Tyler McGuigan was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher after throwing 7 scoreless innings including a perfect game against the SEPA Knights! Great job guys.
New Season, Same Result
Congratulations to the 14U Gallagher Select team for winning the championship in the Manalapan Baseball and Softball Association's Labor Day Classic this past weekend. The 14U squad steamrolled their competition on their way to an undefeated record at the event. Keep up the hard work!
12U Select Starts Fall Off With A Bang
The Gallagher Select 12U team won the Cal Ripken Labor Day Classic this past weekend. They outlasted a very strong 24 team field on their way to victory, Tyler Burnham was named the championship game MVP.

Gallagher Baseball's Richie Ricciardi named All-State
Gallagher Baseball's Richie Ricciardi was named to the All-State Group IV First Team after completing his senior season at Manalapan High School. Ricciardi helped lead his Manalapan team to the Group IV state title with a 24-3 record. Richie competes on Gallagher Baseball's College Bridge (18U) team this summer.
Gallagher Baseball Alum James Pugliese Selected by the Cubs
James Pugliese, a standout for both Steinert High School and Mercer County Community College, was selected in the 18th round (549th pick overall) by the Chicago Cubs. Pugliese was a member of Gallagher Baseball's Junior and Senior Fall Showcase teams while playing at Steinert. As a freshman at Mercer County this year, Pugliese pitched 56.2 innings, allowing only 8 earned runs and 30 hits, while striking out a team-leading 71 batters. We are proud of him and his development and wish him nothing but the best for the future. James will report to the Cubs minor league complex in Mesa, Arizona on Friday, June 10th.
13U Select Wins Battle at the River
Congratulations to the Gallagher Select 13U team for winning the Toms River Battle at the River IV this past weekend. Great way to finish up the Spring season boys.
14U Select Wins Blast at the Beach Championship
The Gallagher Select 14U team finished off a 22-1 Spring Season by winning the Memorial Day Blast at the Beach the past weekend. This is a great group of up and coming ball players....congrats on a great season guys.
9U Select Wins at Diamond Nation
Gallagher Select 9U's join the party! After our 14's and 10's won the Battle of the Turf championship two weeks ago, the 9U squad followed things up with an impressive win themselves this past weekend.
These boys have been working hard and developing throughout the entire season, it was just a matter of time before they broke through with a championship. Big Jack Dileo was named the tournament MVP, and Joe Consiglio was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher after throwing a no hitter in the championship game! Congratulations boys. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for this young and talented group.
10U Select Wins at Diamond Nation
Congratulations to the Gallagher Select 10U squad for winning the Battle of the Turf at Diamond Nation. Coach Jeff Young's squad has been developing and getting better every week and it showed with an impressive victory this past weekend. Great job guys, you deserve it!
14U Select Wins at Diamond Nation
Congratulations the the Gallagher Select 14U squad who won the Battle of the Turf championship. The team breezed through their opponents on way to a 5-0 record. We are looking forward to seeing these guys develop through high school. Nice job guys!
11U Select Seems To Be Something Special!
The Gallagher Select 11U squad made it two for two this past weekend when they went 5-0 to win the Sports at the Beach Coastal Clash. The team played 5 tough opponents on their way to victory.
In pool play they defeated the Jersey Jaguars 15-3, and the previous weekend champ Mid-Atlantic Shockers 10-1. After receiving the #2 seed they again faced off against the Mid-Atlantic Shockers in the playoffs beating them 4-1. From there it was off to the semis where they beat the Lake Shore Gray Sox 4-3 in a 9 inning thriller.
The championship game was against the highly touted Tri-Sate Arsenal National team who going into the championship had outscored their opponents 45-2 in three games. However they were no match for the Gallagher squad as they topped the Arsenal 5-2 to bring home the crown. Nick Mancuso was named the tournament MVP....great job guys!
11U Select Wins Again
The Gallagher Select 11U team made it 3 for 3 this past weekend when they won the Super Spring Invitational at Diamond Nation. They played an instant classic in the semi-finals against a strong Super 11 team. Going into the bottom of the 6th inning trailing 8-7, Michael Urban blasted a home run to center field to tie things up.
Tyler Ras hit a 2 run walk off homer in the 8th inning to advance to the championship, it was his 3rd long ball of the game. The team was also powered by 2 home runs from Jacob Waxler, and one from Nick Hoenstein. In the championship game they proved it wasn't just about the offense as the shut out the Frozen Ropes Rampage 10-0.
Tyler McGuigan was named the Most Outstanding Pitcher and Jacob Waxler was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Great job guys, keep up the good work.
13U Select Wins ECTB On Deck Classic
Congratulations to the Gallagher Select 13U squad for winning the 6th Annual ECTB On Deck Classic this past weekend in Bethlehem, PA. After losing in the championship of their first two tournaments, Coach Moceri's squad left no doubt beating the North Jersey Heat 19-2 in the final. This group has been working hard and getting better every week, congratulations guys.
11U Select Start Things Off Right!
It was great to officially start the 2011 Spring Season this past weekend. Every team in the program worked hard to prepare themselves this winter and that hard work payed off as the 11U Select team won their 1st tournament every played together. This was just the first step in a long development process for the boys this season.
