10U Titans Looking For 2 Players
The 10U Titans are looking for two strong utility players to add to our 2010 tournament roster. Age as of 12/31/2009.
The team will train once a week throughout the winter. If interested, please contact Mike Mullin at mmullin@germantowntitans.org.
12U Titans Win Red Raiders Softball Fest
The 12U Titans won the rain shortened Red Raiders Softball Fest on Halloween weekend. The Titans started Saturday with a 13-1 pounding of the 12U West Virginia Shockers. In the second game of the day the Titans fought a tough battle against the 12U Fire and Ice, pulling out the victory in their last at bat 5-4. Sunday's championship round was cancelled do to rain the #1 Seeded Titans were declared the champions.
Titans Take 2nd at the 13U Fairland Fastpitch Faceoff
The 12U Titans played one game on Saturday beating The Next level 13U 9-0, then the rain came. The Titans were the 2nd seed going into Sunday's elimination round. In the first game, the Titans beat the Maryland Chill Purple, 12-2. The Titans then had to play the Chantilly Lace 13U. This was a battle all the way as the Titans earned a hard fought victory, 4-3 in 7 innings. The championship game was against the Olney Cougars Red 13U. The Titans went cold at the plate and where overwhelmed by the bats of the Cougars losing 12-1.
12U Titans Win 2009 Heartbreakers Fall Classic
The young Titans started out slow on Saturday losing to the Heartbreakers 7-2 and the Mason Dixon Blaze 10-2, and finishing in a tie game with the Maryland Chill Purple 3-3. The Titans were the #6 seed going into Sunday's single elimination round, and had to play the #3 seeded Heartbreakers in the first game. The Titans combined great pitching, defense and strong bats to beat the Heartbreakers 11-1. The girls then played the #2 seeded Mason Dixon Blaze and won a back and forth game, 10-7 as the girls hit the ball very well and to go along with excellent pitching and defense. In the Championship game the Titans faced the #8 seeded Great Falls Sharks who fought their way to the title game by beating the #1 and #4 seeds. The Titans overwhelmed the Sharks with great hitting, and overpowering pitching from Bridgette Barbour. The Titans mercy ruled the Sharks in 4 innings 13-2, completing a great weekend of softball!
10U Titans Finish 5th at ASA B Nationals
Due to inclement weather on Friday, the 10U Titans had to play 6 games on Saturday going 4-2, losing the 2nd game 3-2 in the winners bracket to the eventual tournament champion. The Titans responded to the loss by eliminating 3 teams. The Titans were eliminated in their 6th game, 6-4 by a team that finished 3rd. The girls gave everything they had. Bridgette Barbour pitched 5 full games and closed out the other. Carolyn Majane caught all 6 games with the exception of 1 inning. The 10U Titans had an all around great tournament which included plenty of hits and good defense. Congratulations to our 10U players on an outstanding season! Look out next year. This team has only just begun.
16U Titans Takes First Place in Mid Atlantic
The 16U Titans were crowned champions of the USSSA 2009 Mid Atlantic Tournament. During elimination play, the Titans went 4-0 by knocking off three #1 seeded teams and one #2 seeded team by a combined score of 33-8. Jackie Einstein and Maddie Ulanow had big days at the plate with Maddie hitting a grandslam in the championship game. Einstein and Leanne Van Wie also homered in Sunday play. Devin Reinhold pitched a complete game gem in the championship and Jade Loun was a force behind the plate catching all four games.
