Bombs Away Tourney in Bishop- Give It A Ride went Atomic!
Wow!! What a difference a week makes! After lots of waiting and waiting and waiting, we finally got to play a few games. The schedule wasn't great, but we sure made the most of it. Played some good teams and won the tourney while putting on a hitting clinic. The defense got it done too, but man, those were some crazy offensive innings!! We had a 48 and a 41 run game against a good tourney team. Good job fellas! If we can hit consistently like that, no one will beat us. It's all about being consistent and getting on base! That's the way to win a tourney!

July 21-22 Mammoth Lakes Men's Tourney, Mammoth Lakes, CA
July 28-29 Mammoth Lakes Co-ed (I need some volunteers who will work to support a 6 month sponsorship all Tourneys paid for and if you want to play on a co-ed team while you're there, we could put one in- www.mammothsoftball.com will sponsor it if you volunteer)

T.A.O. baby!
Let's take a moment to consider all our little ones who are looking at us to model how they should act and treat others. They are watching us.......
T.A.O. is key to our team's success! When we forget these principles, things start to fall apart, but when we follow them, things generally seem to fall into place.
TEAMWORK- work together, we win and lose as a team. Talk each other up, keep it positive. Be willing to play any position and bat anywhere in the lineup-they are all important spots. NEVER tear a teammate down- if you do so in the heat of the moment, take the time to make it right when you settle down.
GOOD ATTITUDES- this makes such a big difference in the way we win or lose. Win with honor and lose with dignity. Sometimes this is hard to do, but with a trash talking opponent, saying ANYTHING always makes it worse. Put aside showboating, showing up the competition, and negative comments, let the scoreboard do the talking so you can just be a nice guy out there. Be cool to newbies, they are the future of softball and will either enjoy playing WITH you or AGAINST you in your retirement years (you decide).
ON-BASE PERCENTAGE- with the guys we have and the games we play in, it's important to get a good pitch to hit. Don't feel bad if sometimes this means a walk. Walks help win ball games and slow down the game when we are up to bat. If you don't get your pitch, someone else in the lineup will. We have all seen the games when this happens and we roll through the batting order a couple of times in one inning because of this. With the hitters we have on our team (former batting champs from top to bottom), a high team on-base % means championships. Don't forget batting practice either. No one ever got better just by wanting to. Practice, practice, practice and then enjoy the results!

Thinking about getting healthier in 2012? It's never too early to make a plan and get started......most people don't do anything because they can't do everything. Just start by doing something! Check out one man's true softball transformation story.......it may inspire you to your own personal transformation in 2012! Then post your 2009 resolution or goal on our team bulletin board to share your plan with your teammates. You can always hit the gym for some workout tips if you are having trouble getting started.
