LA Bruins off to Horrible Start

April 14, 2012 – 10:00 AM The LA Bruins have started the 2012 season on a bad note. The team has a total of 4 technicals, 3 players which have already missed games, 1 ejection all in only 2 games. Team manager has been discussing possible additions to the team in order to re-group. The dedication level from big man #44 Hovo Nalbadyan has been ridiculous and he has been fined for missing the first two games of the season without notice. The fine amount has not been released due to the teams privacy clause. On a brighter note, the team shoes are on the way and should be available for the players latest by game 4. Hopefully this will bring some kind of motivation for the players.
The LA Bruins will take on game 2 shorthanded

April 9, 2012 – 10:15 AM The LA Bruins will be playing undefeated Glory Days tonight at 7pm at Delano R.C. without their leading scorer #11 Mike Mgdesyan due to a strained ACL. #3 Rob Rake will also be sitting out due to a suspension. The Bruins need to keep in mind that every game counts as a playoff game and need to step it up although they will be playing shorthanded. STay tuned for reulst of game 2.
LA Bruins Lose Season Opener

April 2, 2012 – 10:30 PM The LA Bruins started the game Monday night vs Scherzer International with an explosive 7 point lead. Playing shorthanded missing big man #44 Hovo Nalbadyan and #42 Naz Parseghian, the Bruins fell behind in the stretch trailing by as much as 10 points in the second half. With 2 minutes left, the bruins made one final run making it a two point game. A technical foul by #13 Armen Gekchyan and a double technical ejection by #3 Rob Rake did not come at a desired time. The bruins lost the season opener 50-44. Stay tuned for more updates.
LA BRUINS HAVE A NEW LOOK

March 19, 2012 – 01:47 AM The LA Bruins headquarters have decided to change the team colors to black and yellow. President John Mgdesyan will be in meetings Monday, March 26, 2102 in order to contract with a company for new Jerseys, Bags, Warm-Ups and T-Shirts. Below is a sample of the Jersey / Warm-Ups and what the team colors will look like. We are looking forward to the 2012 season.

LA Bruins finish season on top

May 12, 2010 – 03:45 AM The Bruins finished the regular season in 1st place taking home 8 wins and 3 losses. The Bruins are well rested and have been in team meetings for two weeks looking forward to the possible double header on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. They will be playing The Gunners in the first round and if they win, they will advance to game two the same day to participate in the championship game. The Squad will be playing against the Celtics in a battle for a spot in the championship game. Let's do this BRUINS!!!!!!
Bruins Get Blown off the court

April 21, 2010 – 11:00 PM The Bruins Started Wednesday night without #44 Hovo again for the 3rd consecutive time. The game started rocky and the bruins were trailing by 6 points at half. The second half began even worse and the bruins were trailing by as much as 22 points. Although #32 George Mgdesyan took home 21 points, the Bruins still lost by 23 points. Very upsetting loss.
Bruins {W I N} in OVERTIME!

April 7, 2010 – 10:30 PM OVERTIME! The bruins played their closest game of the season against the only team they lost to THE SQUAD. Although the Bruins played the first half without their ILLGASKUS #44 Hovo, they were up by 3 points at half. #12 Mike Mgdesyan found the right game to catch fire! he hit a whopping 6 threes taking home 26 points along with a game winning three in overtime! The SQAUD went on a run late in the second half taking a lead by as much as three points with 4 minutes left. #24 John Mgdesyan quickly put an end to that with a couple trees of his own. The Bruins had the ball with 11 seconds on the clock trailing by 1 point out of a timeout. # 12 Mike Mgdesyan had a good look from long range which was a bit long, but luckily #32 George Mgdesyan hitting the boards hard with an offensive rebound and drawing a 2 shot foul took him to the charity stripe with 2 seconds on the clock. There we are trailing by one and 2 free shots. # 32 Made the first one, but missed the second, and OVERTIME he we come. The bruins were trailing by 2 and had the ball with 35 seconds. coming out of a timeout with 15 seconds left, the Bruins Guard #12 With a DAGGER THREE from the top of the key. put the Bruins up by 1. WIth 4 seconds on the clock THE SQUAD had the ball at half court. Tenacious defense on the inbound by #24 John Mgdesyan tipping the inbound pass with #11 Jamie Mahataban cleaning up the mess put another WIN in the books for the BRUINS... Way to go 1st PLACE BABY!!!!
Bruins Kick off New League with a BLOWOUT!

April 5, 2010 – 11:00 PM The Bruins long anticipated Monday Night League kicked off earlier this evening! The Bruins came out strong, quickly took the lead and never lost it! #24 John Mgdesyan was finally able to locate his long lost shot by contributing 2 threes. #12 Mike Mgdesyan had a game high of 15 Points followed by #11 Jamie Mahtaban with 14 Points. The Bruins took an incredibly large lead in the second half leading by as much as 24 points for a moment! Were hoping to see more action and 2 Championships this year! Lets go BRUINS!!!!!!!!!
Bruins take on Get Big for the second time

April 1, 2010 – 11:07 PM The firs time the Bruins faced Get Big it went down to the wire with the bruins defeating them by 2 points. This time around it was a different story. The bruins had a comfortable lead in the first half up by as much as 12 points for a moment. During the second half, the Bruins left their game on the bench giving up bucket after bucket uncontested! Although the Bruins lead althrought the game, it got close again with 5 minutes left on the clock with the Bruins only up by 4 points. By the time you knew it, the Bruins were up by as much as 10 points sealing a victory by 8 points. #24 John Mgdesyan was spotted at the lost and found after the game looking for his shot, while #11 "BIG GAME" Jamie Mahtaban put up 21 points followed by #44 Hovos 14 points and big help on the boards. The Bruins will be coming up with a game plan for a Big game coming up next week against THE SQUAD to whom they have their only loss to.
Bruins first BLOWOUT!

March 31, 2010 – 12:30 AM The LA Bruins were due for a blowout victory in a leage they seem to be dominating! The bruins were initially trailing to the Gunners! at half the score was tied at 24. The second half consisted of excellent defense and 75% from the field for the bruins. The Bruins held the Gunners to 13 points in the second half while # 12 Mike Mgdesyan & #11 Jamie Mahtaban made it Rain with 3 threes a piece! combining 33 points of the bruins total 56 points Mike with 16 and Jamie with 17!
Jamie returns for good

March 31, 2010 – 12:15 AM After missing 3 games, #11 Jamie Mahtaban returned from Europe where he was attempting to sign a deal with a team called Maksimov, but his agent quickly cancelled the deal and instead extended his contract with the LA Bruins for 3 years accepting 12 million per year. With Jamie back on the Roster, the Bruins were sure to win vs The Celtics. #12 Mike Mgdesyan finally found his shot behind the arch hitting 4 of 8 threes putting together 23 points to seal yet another victory. #11 Jamie Mahtaban contributed 15 points after a 3 game break.
Bruins Miracle win!

March 30, 2010 – 11:00 PM The Bruins Came out wednesday night hungry to win after a bad loss to THE SQUAD! The game started a bit slow for the bruins trailing through the first half. The deficit became larger and by the time they knew it the Bruins were down by as much as 15 points. While everyone thought the game was over with the bruins down by 2 points with 6 seconds left on the clock and the ball belonging to the opposing team, #12 Mike Mgdesyan received a standing ovation along with a nomination for an Oscar with his flop move of the year to draw a foul and end up on the charity stripe! the first one was good and the bruins now need one more point to tie the score, when all of a sudden Mike misses the free throw but have no fear, #44 with the offensive board and the put-back to give the bruins the one point lead with 4 seconds left. Of course the Bruins ended up wining the game with a miracle comeback in the second half. Big Ballers #12 Mike Mgdesyan putting up 21 points and #44 Hovo Nalbadian slamming home 22 points of his own followed by #32 George Mgdesyan's 13 points, the bruins became hard to defeat and took home another win...
Monday night league about to begin!

March 7, 2010 – 05:00 AM
Team Manager John Mgdesyan just closed a deal on a prior league which the Bruins are familiar with. It will no longer be a split venue, however the Bruins will be playing monday nights in Tarzana. All games will be held there at various times. Please check the "HANDOUTS" tab for more information and to print your schedule!
Bruins Bite the dust!

March 7, 2010 – 04:07 AM What seemed to be the start of an undefeated season came to an end wednesday night vs. "THE SQUAD". #12 & #24 Mike & John Mgdesyan combined attempted 18 threes but only hit 1. On the other hand Center, #35 Arash Hashemi made a three pointer to put the Mgdesyan Brothers to shame. The Bruins took home a nasty loss wednesday night, loosing by 9 points and training the whole game through! The record is now 2-1.
HOVO! Game Winner

March 7, 2010 Go to HOVO when the game is on the line! The bruins fought a tough battle without their star point guard #11 Jamie Mahtaban on Wednesday night. That didn't seem to Stop # 44 Hovo Nalbadian when he pulled up with a last second 16 footer with a tie score to put in a finishing touch for a 2 point win. he ended the night with 12 points, 3 blocks, 9 rebounds and 1 steal. #12 Mike Mgdesyan also contributed 18 points of his own along with #32 George mgdesyan who had 14 pints on his end. Great WIN!!!
Statement Game!

March 7, 2010 – 03:53 AM Coming off a great win, the Bruins were hungry for another victory. Playing without fear, the Bruins came out on Wednesday like they owned the league. the bruins played solid defense and great execution basketball with 13 BIG points by #44 Hovo Nalbadian & 18 points by #12 Mike Mgdesyan the bruins took home another victory!
Wednesday Night League Debut

March 7, 2010 – 03:45 AM The Bruins had all eyes on them wednesday night as a new team in a league where everyone seemed to know one another. The game vs B's up started off a bit shaky mainly due to the poor defense by the bruins. the half ended with the Bruins up one against a team that they should be blowing out! Stellar defense and play by #11 Jamie Mahtaban who contributed 20 points stunned the crowd and helped with the victory against B's up. Great start to a new league.
Wednesday Night League About to Begin

February 6, 2010 – 05:30 AM The LA Bruins General Manager John Mgdesyan just signed the teams newest contract to play in the Men's Adult Wednesday night league in Van Nuys. The main cross streets are Parthenia & Kester. There have been rumors that the league is a mixture of B+ & C+ teams. Please stay tuned for the upcoming schedule.

A Bad Loss After Another

February 1, 2010 – 10:15 PM The Bruins took on the Magical Johnsons in the city wide tournament Tuesday Night in Los Angeles. They played better than they appeared, however who can take a team named "Magical Johnsons" seriously. There seemed to be some technical difficulties with the gym's scoreboard and horn, which cost us the game. Thanks #21. The season is now over and the bruins finished 5-5 in the regular season and 0-1 in the tourney. Well get em' next season, please look out for schedules!
LA Bruins lose PLAYOFF Spot!

February 1, 2010 – 10:08 PM The LA Bruins came out Monday night looking like a frosh/soph girls high school team. It was the most embarrassing loss they have suffered the whole season. Slaughterhouse truly lived up to their team name beating the LA Bruins by 2 points and advancing to the playoffs. Although the Bruins had a good run in the second half, it just wasn't enough. #44 Hovo was ejected for his racial slurs during the first half of the ball game. A big loss for the bruins.
VND no problem for LAB!

November 23, 2009 – 10:45 PM The Bruins took the court Monday night without #11 Jamie Mahtaban who was injured over the weekend playing (FOOTBALL)! Get well soon Jamie... and again #12 Mike Mgdesyan who is now walking in regular shoes. Get well soon Mikey!!

#32 George Mgdesyan was TOTALLY UNSTOPABLE Monday night vs VND. #32 Mgdesyan is the only Bruin to max out on scoring in a regular season game. Every player has a cap of 25 points per game! George took it to them and it somewhat became a one man takedown in the second half. Way to go George, keep ballin'. As for the rest of the team, ever since the bruins played against EC United, #24 John Mgdesyan forgot to take something home after that game, his shot. John went 1 for 10 behind the arch Monday night which is unacceptable.

In Other Team News:

Please be on the lookout for the tournament Schedule which will be posted soon on the team website!
LA Bruins Chicken out VS Thunderchikens

November 22, 2009 – 08:00 AM The Bruins played so ugly on Monday night that I couldn't even comment on how the game went. #32 George Mgdesyan got into a pre-game scuffle with a spectator before the game started for unreleased reasons, and was fined $150,000.00 by the league. The Thunderchikens came out strong against the Bruins in the first half and really took it to them. The Bruins were playing like it was their first time on the basketball court trailing by 15 points in the first half. The second half was a different story. The bruins were lead by #32 George Mgdesyan with great hustle and back to back buckets to get them in stride. As the game was coming to a close, the Bruins cut the Chickens lead and had tied the game with 45 seconds to go. #21 Shaw Yadegar caught fire behind the arch to help the bruins tie the game by 3 three's back to back to back. Unfortunately the Bruins came up short and were defeated. The Bruins had a lot of reasons to hang their heads after the game for their disgusting performance in the first half, but their incredible performance in the second half reminded them of how great they play when they are all on the same page.
#12 Mike Mgdesyan out for remainder of Season

November 15, 2009 – 08:00 AM This just in, team trainer and doctors made an announcement early Sunday morning with regards to #12 Mike Mgdesyan's condition. Unfortunately Mgdesyan will be sitting out for the rest of the LA Bruins regular season. After careful examination of his condition, it was agreed for #12 Mgdesyan to sit out for the rest of the regular season in order for his ankle to fully heal. Although the Bruins will be playing shorthanded, they are optimistic and full of confidence to close out the season strong and prepare for the playoffs.
LA Bruins #42 & #32 shooting around

November 11, 2009 – 03:01 AM
LA Bruins pull off a must win!!!

November 9, 2009 – 11:21 PM The bruins took on the 1st place team EC United Monday evening with determination and the dyer need to win! This can be considered the most important game of the season. The game began with #44 MIA for the second time in a row. The bruins started off in a zone defense but quickly realized that they were playing against a well shooting team, and adjusted to man. Toward the end of the first half, #12 Mike Mgdesyan took a nasty fall landing on the foot of a player from the opposing team and suffered a high ankle sprain, (he missed the rest of the game). With Mike Mgdesyan and Hovo Nalbadian out, the Bruins knew they needed to step up and dig down deep. Although the Bruins were missing their big man, they held up well in the first half up 21-18.

#44 Mr. Nalbadian decided to show up in the second half and gave the Bruins the size and rebounding help they needed to pull this victory off. The second half was a rainy half for #24 John Mgdesyan, scoring a game high 20 points 16 of which came in the second half behind the arch. With their scoring threat #12 Mike Mgdesyan out due to an injury, #24 turned up the heat firing 5 THREE POINTERS in the second half along with a 4 point play late in the second half to put the bruins up by 10 points. Great passing and hustle by #11 Mahtaban, #21 Yadegar and #32 Mgdesyan helped find open shots and seal the deal on this important win... Way to go bruins.

In other team news, #12 Mike Mgdesyan was diagnosed with a high anke sprain. What is a "high ankle sprain?" A high a sprain is used to describe a particular type of ankle injury. Normally, when someone sprains their ankle, the ligaments that surround the ankle joint are stretched or torn. This injury causes pain and swelling around the ankle, and can be quite uncomfortable. From the looks of it, MIKE MGDESYAN will be out for 2-3 weeks due to this injury.
LA Bruins run out of Gas!

November 4, 2009 – 08:00 PM The Bruins took on the "City Ballers" Monday night in Van Nuys without one of their key players, #44 Hovo Nalbadian. #12 Mike Mgdesyan recognized a few familiar faces on the opposing team and was able to get some smack talk in before the game even started. With a key player out, the Bruins held up great in the first half with great hustle by #21 Yadegar's Recruit Jamie. The bruins were up by a point during halftime, and were able to build their lead up by 3 points when the second half began. Unfortunately, It was downhill from there, due to the lack of subs on the Bruins bench, fatigue was a big factor. The Bruins ended up losing the game but still held their heads high due to great performances all around. Player of the game #11 Jamie Mahtaban refused to show up to the press conference after the game and was fined $50,000.00. Team owner #24 Mgdesyan states "The Bruins still have a great shot at the title this year, all they have to do is dig down deep and REALLY want it".
Slaughterhouse gets Slaughtered

October 27, 2009 – 12:15 AM The LA Bruins announced a week before tonights game against Slaughterhouse the latest addition to the squad at Guard #11 Jamie Mahtaban. Jaime was recruited while playing overseas and has signed a 2 year contract with the LA Bruins at an undisclosed amount. CEO of LA Bruins John Mgdesyan sees Jaime as an asset for the Bruins and a rising star on the team.

The Bruins took the court last night without their starting Center #44 Hovo Nalbadian due to his late arrival to the team bus. He was fined $25,000.00 and had to come off the bench on Monday nights game against Slaughterhouse. It is true what they say, "When it rains it pours". On top of all he madness, the LA Bruins were trailing 2-0 Monday night before the game even started. The team was penalized for newcomer Jamie not having his uniform for Monday nights game. Some believe that Adidas may have intentionally delayed the processing of Jaime's jersey due to leaked information that the Bruins have been meeting up with Nike CEO Phil Knight to discuss future business.

The Bruins started Monday nights game trailing 2-0, but that didn't seem to matter much. Great Performance by #32 George Mgdesyan with a leading 11 points, 4 Rebounds, 2 Steals, 1 Block and 4 Assists gave the Bruins the confidence they needed to play like they really wanted the championship this season. For the first time all season, the Bruins finally came together as a team, sharing the ball more than usual and playing in sync. Great Hustle by #21 Shaw Yadegar and a late three pointer by #12 Mike Mgdesyan gave the bruins a 9 point lead, which sparked the Bruins to maintain their lead which was gradually decreasing in the second half. In a nutshell, the Bruins played well together as a team and seems like they have a great shot at the Championship this season.
LA Bruins vs Bad News Ballers, A Joke!

October 19, 2009 – 11:55 PM The LA Bruins took on the Bad News Ballers for the second time and blew them off the court again. A great performance by all players! Keep up the good work Bruins!!!
The Big Banga Theory

October 5, 2009 – 11:45 PM Once again the LA Bruins lose to La Banga. On Monday night the game started off great with #44 Hovo Nalbadian crashing the boards and making shot after shot. At the same time # 24 John Mgdesyan was able to locate his shot with great feeds from #21 Shaw Yadegar and #12 Mike Mgdesyan. Although it was a great team effort, the LA Bruins came up short. Great motivation by #35 Arash Hashemi was helpful throughout the game, but unfortunately it took a lot more in order to beat these Russian monsters.
LA Bruins playing shorthanded

October 5, 2009 – 06:00 PM The LA Bruins will take the court today @ 8:30 pm in Tarzana shorthanded, missing 2 players, #42 Naz Parseghian and #32 George Mgdesyan, who have both been asked to visit Nasau, Bahamas to be a judge for a bikini competition. The Bruins need to go all out with the 5 players they have in order to have a chance against La Banga, to whom they lost during the season opener. Missing their key player George Mgdesyan, the Bruins really need to play in sync to even stand a chance against the "rainmakers".
LA BRUINS Announce The Official Team Store

September 27, 2009 – 10:00 PM After long negotiations, the LA BRUINS finally signed with PREP SPORTSWEAR for their team apparel. Please visit the store at your earliest convenience.
LA BRUINS Announce The Official Team Shoes

September 27, 2009 – 08:30 PM The LA BRUINS announced in a recent press conference that the Hyperdunks will be used this season as the official LA BRUIN team shoes. Although a few players have signed contracts with addidas, they will be breaching them due to the comfort and style that the Hyperdunks provide. In other team news, the team manager John Mgdesyan announced earlier that the final team roster will be submitted to league headquarters early monday morning.
Bad News Ballers??? More Like Bad News BRUINS

September 21, 2009 – 01:01 AM The Bruins took the court monday night with a hunger to win. Coming off a bad loss, the Bruins knew they had a statement game ahead. They made their statement Monday night blowing out the BAD NEWS BALLERS by 27 points. Although Mike Mgdesyan could not locate his shot, Hovo Nalbadian came through on the boards with well over 20 rebounds along with 18 points. Great Defense played by the LA BRUINS and help by George Mgdesyan setting up the zone offense was the difference this time. Way to go guys. Lets get ready for next monday!
LA BANGA comes out with a BANG!

September 15, 2009 – 07:58 PM Last night the LA BRUINS took the court for the 1st time in Bruin history. Coming off a 3 month stretch, the Bruins were pretty impressive. #12 Mike Mgdesyan seemed to have that "shooters touch" with an unbelievable 6 three pointers for an opening game, leaving him with 24 points for the night (one less than the league max). La Banga aka RUSSIAN FOBS, were also on fire from downtown hitting well over 10 threes as a team. What seemed to be a blowout at first by La Banga, the Bruins put a quick stop to that by a few adjustments on defense. ending the first half by a four point deficit. Although the Bruins played their hearts out, La Banga pulled off the victory. No worries guys, well get them next time!

Game Highlights:

Mike Mgdesyan: 6 Three Pointers
George Mgdesyan: No Look Reverse Layup (SICK)
Naz Parseghian: Back to Back Threes cutting trail to 4 points
