Oh What A Night for the Yearling "Crushers"
The 2014 Gordon Yearling team (The Crushers) rallied to beat Clover Hill in the semi-finals and won the right to advance to the Yearling (9-10 Year old) Finals against Woolridge on Thursdayevening.
The first few innings went well for The Crushers but as the clock struck 9, the steam engine of Gordon began to wind down.
Even in defeat, this group was still all smiles as the hardware of plaques were handed out to each member of the team in attendance.

Yearling's Win Keeps Them in Winner's Bracket
Gordon’s Yearling had an epic fight against the #3 seed Matoaca today at Iron Bridge Park. They persevered through a couple of tough middle innings, and managed to get every boy on base during the game. The team welcomed back Landon after his three week injury, he contributed 3 walks, a run scored and an RBI. Ryan on the mound and Campbell with his triple and work behind the plate in the first inning really rattled the other team!
Coach Ivy’s Yearlings advance to the final four in the winners bracket, and play Monday night at 6 PM on Field #11 at Iron Bridge.

Play It Again Gordon
Gordon Football's Newest Addition - Play It Again Gordon
We've reached the end of another football season, and as you sort through your player's practice gear for use next year, consider donating equipment and practice wear your player has (or will) outgrow by next season to Gordon Football. Bring your player's old sports equipment (cleats, pads, practice pants, gloves, etc.) to spring sign-ups, Senior uniform returns or email Mike Martin, Assistant Football Director to arrange a drop off time and place. All donated equipment will be stored until the start of next fall's football season, at which time it will be made available for sale to players who may be in need of a “gently” used item or two for their start to the season at a price much reduced from even the second hand sports stores in the area.
