Flag Football Fields at Ariss Park

The Flag Football fields have been assigned a number to help make it easier for parents and families to find where they are going. If you have any questions about what field your son or daughter is playing on, please contact your Head Coach or Dan Stecz, Director of Flag Football.

Here is a breakdown of the fields:

E Division Fields
Fields E-1 and E-2 are nearest the highway and run East to West.

D Division Fields
Fields D-1 and D-2 are nearest the flag football parking lot and run North to South.

E & D Division Field 3
Field E/D-3 is on the lower half of the main game field near the new concession stand across the parking lot from the rest of the flag fields.

Please continue to use the Flag Football Parking Lot regardless of what field your son or daughter is assigned - thank you!!

GBYF Spirit Camp - Great Turnout!!

WOW - More than 120 GBYF Flag and Tackle Cheerleaders invaded the Green Youth Sports Complex to participate in the 2010 GBYF Spirit Camp!

Girls rotated between stations learning various routines, chants and dances, then performed for the crowd at the end of the day. Cheer coaches served as instructors for the event. Awards were handed out at the end of the event for Best Spirit, Best Jumps and other various aspects of cheerleading.

Everyone endured the hot temperatures and high humidity for a fantastic event. Thanks to GBYF Cheerleading Director, Darnelle Colant, and her staff for an outstanding day! Events like this put GBYF Cheerleading in a class by itself!

GBYF Clean-Up Day!!

Thank you to the more than 70 people who volunteered at Clean-Up Day!!

Even though the temperatures were hot and steamy, it didn't stop the droves of volunteers from coming out! We repainted the entire concession stand, cleaned the concession area and all the storage buildings, sorted all the cheerleading, tackle and flag equipment, and yes, removed the infamous painted plywood Bulldog - it just had to go.

Photos from Clean-Up Day are posted on our website and Facebook page - check them out!!

Volunteering Opportunities

As you know, GBYF has instituted a $50 Volunteer Fee per family this season. In an organization this size, over 550 kids and operating two facilities at the Green Youth Sports Complex and Ariss Park, we need your talents and time to make this a first class organization.

All we are asking is that you or your spouse volunteer at least 3 times during the entire 2010 season. Here are some of the volunteering oppotunities most needed:

~ Concession Stand: any practice or game day - need game day volunteers the most helping serve customers
~ Game Day: setup/takedown of field markers, member of chain gang, pressbox "spotter" help or announcing, trash pickup
~ Special Events: annual fundraising party, cleanup day at the complex, year-end banquets, equipment handout, cheer clinics and uniform handouts
~ 50/50 Volunteer: sell 50/50 tickets at any Green High School varsity football game from pre-game until halftime

At every event, there will be a sign-up sheet to log in your hours, so make sure that you get credit for that day's event! We appreciate all your support and are anticipating a great 2010 season!!

In the top black bar of our website, on the right-hand side next to the Weather link, you will notice a link titled Tip of the Week. If you click on this link, there will be a video presentation on various aspects of football that change weekly.

Kind of a neat thing to watch with your son as you tell him about your conquests on the football field "back in the day".

Green Bulldog Youth Football

Green Bulldog Youth Football (GBYF) was created to give children living in the Green school district the opportunity to learn the game of football and cheerleading in a family-oriented and fun atmosphere.

GBYF features Tackle Football (grades 3-7), Flag Football (K-3) and Cheerleading (grades K-7). The philosophy of the organization is to provide every participant with the most time on the field as possible. Teams and squads are limited in numbers and divided equally to promote skill development, competitive play and a feeling of community spirit.

GBYF is fully backed by all of Green Local Schools, Green High School football and cheerleading programs, City of Green, Green All Sports Booster Club, and Green Parks & Recreation Department - all pledging to support and help our organization grow and prosper.

Go Bulldogs!

The GBYF Executive Board
