Asphalt Green to Host Sports Parent Seminar Nov 4th

Asphalt Green Wave Soccer and the Positive Coaching Alliance are hosting a parent seminar Wednesday Nov 4th.
This brief 40-minute talk discusses parents’ role in building a sports culture that honors the game. We’ll touch on what it means to support your child and how you can discuss a game or competition with them after it occurs. There are many moments in sports to acknowledge the effort your child puts forth and to teach valuable life lessons!

Session 2 - 7:15-8:00pm

U13 Girls winners of Beekman Cup Tournament
Asphalt Green 97 emerged as 1st place winners of the hard fought Beekman Cup Tournament in Hopewell Junction, NY this past Columbus Day weekend. A 1-0 victory over the Cortlandt Liberty Belles in their last game was the difference. Congratulations Coach Adam Perez and all of the players!
U10 Rangers take the Westchester Tournament.
Congratulations to the U10 Rangers for winning 1st place at the FC Westchester Columbus Day Tournament.
It certainly was a valiant effort by all the players to go through the tournament undefeated. Of course, none of it would have been possible without the guidance and commitment to the team from their coach, Glen Bryant. Job well done!!!
Also at Westchester U10 Lazio finished 3rd and U12 Celtic finished in 2nd place. Elsewhere the U13 Inter Boys finished in 2nd place at the Yonkers tournament.

The Asphalt Green boys U12 Celtic traveled to Albany to take on the highly
rated Blackwatch club in the Quarter-final round of the NY State Cup
tournament. Coach Cyril led our team to an impressive come-from-behind 3-2
victory over the upstate opponents. With less than 10 minutes remaining in
the game, AG was down 2-0 and the parents were thinking about the long ride
back to NYC. But the boys rallied for an incredible run of 3 quick goals
in the dwindling minutes to stun the home team. The victory is a testament
to the hard work and commitment by Coach Cyril and the players. The team
has advanced to the Final Four, and will play their next State Cup match in
the Spring. Congratulations Celtic!!

Our SAQ program is designed to fill that competitive gap — providing young athletes with better physical awareness and performance to complement those sports skills and reduce the likelihood of injury. If your child plays a sport where sudden bursts of speed, quick changes in direction, and balance while in motion are advantageous, then Asphalt Green’s SAQ class is worth exploring.
All sessions will include hands-on instruction focusing on agility, quickness, power, and running mechanics for developing core strength and increasing speed, balance, and reaction time. The drills and exercises specifically address the way an athlete moves in their particular sport, thereby enhancing their performance and reducing the likelihood of injury.

* 4:00-4:55pm or 5:00-5:55pm Each Evening
* Attend Any Two Sessions Per Week
The SAQ Academy incorporates all of the five core components of fitness: Cardiovascular Fitness, Muscular Strength and Endurance, Flexibility and Range of Motion, Balance and Agility, and Skill/Form Development. Taking this comprehensive approach — what we call “Informed Fitness” — helps develop a more complete and competitive athlete, with training habits that will ensure a lifetime of sports and fitness.
