2009 Annual Kickoff Boys Basketball Meet
The Annual Meeting AAU Boys Basketball Committee Meeting
Date: February 27, 2009

The Agenda will be posted in the next couple of days. Please print a copy for your record.
To be eligible to vote and to receive a qualifier bid for 2007 you must meet requirements below:
Registered as a Club(Team)
Register at least 5 members under your Club
A list of eligible clubs for the qualifiers will be provided @ the meeting. One of the requirements is that the club/organization must have participated in at least 3 sanctioned invitational tournaments during the 2008 season. (Does not include District Qualifiers or Super Regional qualifiers). There will be no hat picks for 2009 due to 2008 AAU participation stats from Gulf Association Registered Clubs in required sanctioned tournaments.
A new board will be selected for the 2009 committees.
Our Policies and By-Laws are up for review. There will be changes in the Qualifier Award and Seeding and Credential Process. A strategic planning committee will be selected to review and update our current operating by-laws. All changes will be made strictly in the interest of the association membership.

2005 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
9U NEWS BULLETIN
|
Congratulation to the 9U Tigers for making it to the Final 4 in the AAU 9U/3rd Grade Division II National Championship; placing 4th out of 16 teams. Because of our placement @ Nationals the Tigers get an Automatic Bid next year (2007) to play in Division I or Division II 10U / 4th Grade Nationals'.
All of the games for Div I & II were played at the Disney Sports Complex which was a wonderful experience for the players. We were able to see all levels of competition around the US. (You can go to AAU website to see the results of other Texas teams) http://www.aauboysbasketball.org
Whether you were able to attend or not, The Northwest Tigers team would like to thank ALL the parents for their time & support and a special thanks to all who helped Fund-raise.
The TIGERS received a team trophy and each player received an AAU Metal, Final 4 back pack, & coaches received a Final 4 AAU Watch.

News from Boys’ Basketball
2005 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
9 U Division 1 (Aug 11 am)
The Super Hooper’s won their first game in pool 49-29 over the MD Severn Seminoles team. They move to the National Bracket with a 2 win 1 loss record in pool play. They play the Tri County Tigers Wed 1:00
The Superstars won their first two games in pool 21-36 over Main Event and 18-35 against SW De Soto Hornets. They won all three games in pool play and move into the National Bracket against the Baltimore Stars at 7:40 Tues.
Superstars finish 9th in their Division
8 U Division 1(Jul 6 am)
The Houston Jaguars was the only team from the Gulf Association participating in the 8 U Division 1 tournament. The going was rough in the pool play where they lost three games by 46, 6 and 19 points. Things got better in the bracket play with two losses, the first a 2 point loss and the second a three point loss.
10 U Division 1 (Jul 18 am)
Jaguars first place in the 10 U National Div 1
Houston Jaguars Blue was first in their pool beat SW TG 77/20 in the first round of Bracket play. The Jaguars advance to the Q-final with a win over Cal Aces 51/64. The Jags won their q-final game 52/49 over Indiana Elite. They won the semi-final game 33-42 over Team California.
Houston Hoop Stars lost 2 and won 1 in pool play. They came in third in the pool and advance to the Classic Bracket. The Hoop Stars lost in the first round of the Classic Bracket to OK Titans 36-35.
Houston Jaguars White lost all three games in the pool play. The Jaguars White were eliminated from the tournament with a loss of 60/33 to the FL Lakers.
Houston Superstars was 2nd in pool play. They lost in the first round of the National bracket to SE War Eagles 41/34. They lost to the Potomac Valley 55-30 in the first round loser bracket.
11U Division 1
Houston Hoops won over Cincy Hoops 24-67. Beat Ky N. Lex. Ky 39-56. Lost to PC Oakland Rebels 40-34. Placed 2nd in pool and advanced to the National Bracket. The Hoops won over BWSL 55-42 lost to Indiana Elite 65-56 in the 2nd round of the National Bracket. They were eliminated from the tournament with a loss of 52-42 to Norfolk Wildcats.
Houston Predators won 46-30 over Puerto Rica. 32-46 win over NC Heads Up. One point win over VA Prince William 37-38. Placed first in pool with a win over NJ Exclusive Playay 37-57. Lost to Charleston Lil Eagles 62-48 and lost to Springfield Central 64-43 in the losers bracket. This eliminated them from the tournament
Galveston Lakers lost 64-43 to Cincy Friars Warriors. The 2nd game win over SW Team Texas 63-66. Beat Wi Racine 30-59 and advanced to the National Bracket. They beat CE Winning Edge 44-48. Lost a heartbreaker to IN Municipal Gardens 55-54. They won against Met Net Generation 43-53 in the losers bracket. The Lakers won 48-42 over the Springfield Central. They were eliminated from the tournament by a loss against Indiana Hoyas.
Houston Dream Team won over CT North End Ballers 54-14. Large margin win over Maryland Columbus 43-25. A 42-44 loss to N. Lexington KY placed them second in pool and into the National Bracket. Won their first round game against PN Icemen P 28-48. St Louis Game Face was a victor over the Dream Team 59-35. The Dream team left the tournament with a loss of 55-45 to Team Orlando.
12U Division 1 (Jul 23 pm)
Team Houston place 10th in the 12U Division 1 Tournament.Team Houston beat NC Fayettesville Fury 49-63 in the first game of pool play. Team Houston over Oakland 60-38 in second game. With the win over Atlantic Celtics 46-43, Team Houston wins 1st in pool. Won in 2nd round of National Bracket Play by a score of 58-50 over Met Unique All Stars. A win in the third round over Met Team Roc advanced Team Houston to the 4th round against OH Cinn Royals where they lost 53-42. They won the first game in the losers bracket against Met Next Team42-45 and won the second from MV Stars 39-47. They placed 10th in the tournament losing to NC All Stars 55-50.
Houston Jaguars Place 7th in 12U Division 1.
Houston Jaguars won their first round pool play over NC Greensboro Warriors 36-50. Then lost to LE AAA in the second game 56-47, but won their 3rd pool game 46-36 over Tulsa Bulldogs.
In the second round bracket play they beat MD Baltimore Stars 41-45. The Jags lost a two point game to SW TA Pistons (52-50) and won in the 3rd round losers bracket against PN Seattle Rotary Style 53-61. The beat the Ohio Shooting Stars 70-56. They won 55-50 over MD Select for seventh place in the tournament.
13 U Division 1(Jul 6 am)
5 teams participated in the 13 U Division 1 tournament. The Houston Hoops, Houston Jaguars, and the Houston Superstars came in first in their pool play and continued into the National Bracket The Houston Jaguars and the Houston Superstars were eliminated from the tournament in the third round of the National bracket play. The Houston Hoops were eliminated in the fourth round of the National bracket play.
13 U Division 2(Jul 6 am)
The Houston Superstars and the Westside All Stars both won their respective pool play. Both moved into Bracket play where the Superstars were eliminated in the second round of the 2nd round loser bracket, while the Westside All Stars were eliminated in the second round of the 1st round loser bracket. The teams had a combined 9/4 win/loss record in the tournament.
Port Arthur Heat had to play in a five team pool. They were eliminated from the tournament in the first round of the Classic bracket. They claim a 0/5 win/loss record for the tournament.
14 U Division 1 (Aug 7 am)
Houston Hoops won 3 games in pool play and advanced to the 2nd round National Bracket. A win over WV Cougars 52-56 advanced them to the 3rd round. The Hoops lost to FL Yellow Jackets 69-65 and lost again in the losers bracket to the Greyhounds 91-76.
Houston Hoops Action lost all three games in the pool play. They were eliminated from the tournament with a 48-55 loss to the Ky Lexington Benjamin in the first round of the Classic Bracket.
Houston Defenders had a 1 win 2 loss, record in the pool and advanced to the Classic Bracket. They lost to Dayton SABC 52-51 in the first round of the Classic Bracket. They are now out of the tournament.
Houston Dream Team had a 1 win 2 loss, record in pool. They were placed in the second round of the Classic Bracket. They won the first game against Orlando Wizards 61-67 and was eliminated from the tournament by a loss to Team Columbus 57-82.
Houston Select won all games in pool play and and advanced to the 2nd round of the National Bracket. They beat the Baylor Ballers 44-89 lost to Pittsburg Finest 74-71. In the loser’s bracket they won 50-54 against Austin And 1, won 54-63 from Baltimore Blues but lost to the Greyhounds 79-72. This loss eliminated them from the National tournament.
Team Houston had a 2 win 1 loss record in pool play. They lost to the Baylor Ballers in the 1st round of the National Bracket. They were eliminated from the tournament by Lexington Catholic in the 1st round loser’s bracket 87-82.
Team NCI also had a 2 win 1 loss record in pool play. They lost a hard fought game to All Ohio Red 43-49 in the first round of the National Bracket. They were eliminated from the tournament by a forfeit to the IL Jets in the 1st round losers bracket.
14 U Division 2 (Jul 18 am)
The Houston Panthers was first in pool play winning all three games. They won in the second round of the National Bracket beating PV Team Maryland 56-63. The Panthers are eliminated from the tournament after a 40-37 loss to Land O’Lakes and a 58-56 loss to Little Rock Bulls.
Port Arthur Hear 2nd in Tournament.
Port Arthur Heat were 2 wins 1 loss in pool play coming in second. They beat Team Richmond in the second round National Bracket 54-64. They beat Morris Co Black 53-58. They won over Tri Co. Cobras 61-65. A 49-35 win over Birmingham Roughriders puts the Heat in the Semi-Finals Winning their Semi-Final game against Hartford Knights 46-57 places the Heat in the Finals. Lost by 2 in finals to Fayetteville Titans 62-60 .
Katy HOPS has a 2/1 win/loss record in pool play. They finished 2nd in pool. They lost to Central Jersey Cougars 58-56 in the 2nd round National Bracket. They won in the 2nd round losers bracket Fri 12:00 against Executive Ill Sports and lost in the 2nd round 2nd losers bracket to Sierra Express 73-62.
15 U Division 1(Jul 10 pm)
The 15 U Division 1 tournament is under way. Fort Bend Select, Houston Elite, and the Houston Hoops are representing the Gulf Association at the tournament. All three teams have 1st place in pool play and all advance to the National Bracket.
Fort Bend Select lost in the third round of National Bracket play and were eliminated from the tournament by a 70-54 loss to Oklahoma Tulsa Bulldogs.
Houston Elite lost in the first round of Bracket play, won in the 1st round in the loser bracket and lost in the second round by 4 points. Houston Elite leaves the tournament with a 4/2 win/loss record.
Houston Hoops finish 13th.
Houston Hoops lost in the quarter finals to Ferrari of Illinois by 5 points. They advanced to Q-final loser bracket and lost to All Ohio Red by 3 points. The Houston Hoops place 13th in the National tournament with a win over Wisconsin Fox Valley Skillz.
15 U Division 2 (Jul 18 pm)
Katy Hoops finish 13th.
The Katy Hoops were 2/1 in pool play finishing 2nd. They won their first game in Bracket play 57/44 over MD Eastern Shore Hoopsters and won in the next round against NJ Hunderson Crusaders 42/52. They won the third rd game against CT Central CT Hoopstars 44-58. They lost a quarter final game against OH XBA Freestyle 54-46. The lost to ST Westlake Hoops in the Q-final losers bracket. The Katy Hoops finish 13th winning 26-36 over CE Old Gold.
Houston Action NW were 2/1 in pool play. They won their first game in the Bracket play 48/46 against MA Warriors. They lost to IN Riverside Odd breakers 67/48. They won in the 2nd round loser’s bracket against PV Maryland Raptors 55-56. A loss in the 2nd round loser’s bracket against MV Forest Lake Rangers 48-37 eliminated the Houston Action from the tournament.
16 U Division 1(Jul 6 am)
The Division 1 16-U National tournament is now history. The tournament was played in the Houston area with eleven (11) teams from the Gulf Association competing in the tournament. The teams had a combined win/loss record of 29/31.
The Houston Hoops came in third in the tournament.
Houston No-Limit placed 11th.
Both teams receive an automatic bid to next years 17-U National Division I tournament.
5 teams made it to the National Bracket by placing first or second in their pool play. 6 teams went to the Classic Bracket by placing third or fourth in their pool play.
