Fall Opener
September 20, 2010 —
Great job this weekend ladies! Awesome time had by all while playing some outstanding softball. You guys won 3 and lost 2. One of those losses was against a very talented Sport Plus 18U team and again ladies you played well against them, while the other was also to an extremely talented Strikeforce team. 2 of our 3 wins were against a tough 18U Stingers team! Congrats on a nice showing this weekend and thanks to the parents for your continued support.
You ladies continue to get better and better each weekend and I look forward to seeing ya'll continue to grow.
Thanks, Coach JT
World Series Disney World 2010
It's official, our trip to Disney World for the USSSA World Series was a huge success! The girls had fun and played great softball the entire week. Our final record was 7 wins and only 3 losses. We finished 7th out of 45 teams and we were the only team to beat the Carolina Fusion, the eventual champions.
In between all of the softball, the girls had a blast and bonded even more as a team. This is a great group and they did some great things this year. Look out 16U, Hanover X-Treme is coming for you!

Nitty Gritty 16U Silver Champions (6-1)
July 17, 2010 —
The girls continued to play like a well oiled machine, going 6 and 1 and having only 1 bad game out of 7! Playing as one of the youngest teams in the tournament, we held our own and earned the respect of many coaches. Several coaches commented on how well our girls played together and one coach said he envied us. Earning the Silver Championship was a great way to head into our trip to Florida for the USSSA World Series.
Thanks to all of the teams we played for giving us some great games and thanks to all the parents for supporting the team all weekend in 100 degree weather. Way to go X-Treme and let's continue rocking all the way to the World Series!
Coach JT
Queen of the Hill Tournament 2nd Place!!
Congratulations to our ladies on playing some amazing softball at the 3 day "Queen of the Hill" Tournament. The girls played through the heat and did it with a smile and loads of heart. I would like to thank all of the parents and family members for giving the girls support throughout the weekend -- it definitely helped!
The X-Treme team finished in 2nd place out of 19 teams, which is something to be very proud of. They played like a well-oiled machine throughout the weekend -- pitching, fielding, and hitting looked better than ever... On elimination day, they pulled together even more. I've got to single out Gabe, because she caught 2 games for us on Monday and that's not something she does. Every single player did something positive to help us make it to that championship game -- and that's what this team is about!!
Pictures will be posted as soon as some parents send me some......
Let's keep it going all the way to Orlando in just a few weeks....
Upcoming: Practice Thursday 6:30pm at Chickahomminy
Nitty Gritty Tournament July 17 - 18 (16U)
World Series July 24 - July 31
Summer Sizzler 16U Champions
June 27, 2010 —
HOT, HOT, HOT!! But, all we do is WIN, WIN, WIN!!
Hanover X-Treme 14U goes undefeated - 6 WINS 0 losses - in earning our first 16U championship. Temperatures reached 104F this weekend, but our girls never quit no matter how tired or hot they felt. The X-Treme players played with heart and as a team, picking each other up when others needed it. They made all the coaches proud and the hard work paid off with victories over some very tough teams. We defeated an extremely talented and very well coached Northern Neck Rage team in the Semi-finals and followed that up with an exciting victory in the championship game against a tough West End Waves team. Congratulations ladies, but let's not rest on our laurels because next weekend is the "Queen of the Hill" tournament and the clock is ticking until our big trip to Disney for the USSSA World Series!!
Pictures to come later.....
Love ya X-Treme!!!
Hanover X-Treme Campout/Cookout
June 19, 2010 – 03:30 PM —
It's time for the annual craziness of the X-Treme Campout/Cookout! We'll start the fun around 3:30 pm. Arrive ready to swim, play ping pong, play games, eat and have a good time. Again, all players, siblings, and parents are invited for the cookout. Players and families are invited to spend the night and campout -- feel free to just drop the kids off and go if you're not a tent person. The players can bring a tent or they can chose to sleep in the huge screened poarch in their sleeping bag. For the cookout, we will be grilling burgers, hot dogs, and maybe a few surprises. Please bring one side dish for the cookout and your beverage of choice. Of course, we'll have a campfire and the girls will make smores!
Don't forget: Sleeping Bag, pillow, flashlight, bug spray, sun screen, chair to sit in, swim suit, side dish for the cookout, beverage to drink, and any other overnight items you can think of.....
RSVP with player name and number of family members staying for the cookout, please.......

USSSA States - Sterling, VA
June 12, 2010 —
Hanover X-Treme went to Northern Virginia and participated in the USSSA State Tournament. The girls played against some very talented teams and held their own all weekend. We were finally eliminated in a tight and exciting game against a very talented Strikeforce team. Our girls keep getting better and better each tournament and they continue to play more and more with togetherness. I'm looking forward to our next several tournaments to see their continued growth. Hard work will pay off!
Upcoming Events: X-Treme Campout/Cookout June 19th-20th Virginia USSSA Invitational June 26th-27th Queen of the Hill July 3rd - 5th (3 days) Fundraiser at Dick's Sporting July 10th

Richmond Summer Showdown Tournament
May 29, 2010 —
Our first tournament playing 16U was a big success. It was great to find out that we can definitely play with all of these 16U teams. Our pitching was outstanding all weekend and our hitting wasn't that bad either. Defense, which is normally our biggest strength, let us down a little this weekend. This tournament will be a nice building block to our next tournament, the USSSA States in Sterling, Va. Again, way to go ladies, all of the coaches are very proud of how you handled yourself against much older competition.

Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
May 8, 2010 —
The girls and families enjoyed spending time at the Ashland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center today. We spent time helping the folks at the nursing home play bingo. The residents enjoyed the great prizes and snacks we brought and the players and families enjoyed that wonderful feeling you get when you help people. I want to say thank you to all the players that attended and showed true community spirit!
Dirty Dozens Tournament
May 1, 2010 —
Another great showing! The girls played outstanding defense all weekend. We won our first 4 games and only allowed a total of 4 runs in those games. We made it to the championship game and lost a tough battle to the KW Bobcats, 4 to 1. Congratulations to the Bobcats and congrats to our girls for a well deserved 2nd place finish.
Way to go X-Treme!
AD Starr Champions!
April 18, 2010 —
Great weekend of softball! In our first tournament of the season, we won all 6 games and and the AD Star Championship. The girls pitched, hit, fielded and ran the bases like pros -- it was a great sight to behold. I think we hit so well that they had to buy new balls in order for us to play on Sunday! Actually, I think a couple of the balls we hit are still rolling!
The support from friends and family was outstanding all weekend and greatly appreciated. This was an awesome start to our 2010 season and shows what we are capable of as a team. Let's go X-Treme!
Pictures posted in the photo album...
Again, great job girls and see everyone at the yard sale on Saturday.
Coach JT
Bake Sale at Dick's Sporting Goods
The girls did a great job raising funds at our bake sale. Thanks to everyone that came and supported our team on Saturday. I sure wish we had more leftovers because what I did eat was really, really, really good!
One Day Scrimmage Tournament
March 21, 2010 —
Great way to get our season started! Great weather and great softball -- who could ask for more. The girls pitched, fielded, and hit like pros all day long. This is going to be an "X-Tremely" good year! Next tournament will be the weekend of April 17th.
Welcome to Gabe Cintron and Lauren McIntyre! We are X-tremely fortunate and thrilled to have added these 2 highly skilled players, not to mention they are just good kids! Also, we'd like to welcome their families and we are looking forward to an outstanding 2010 season. LOOK OUT FLORIDA (USSSA WORLD SERIES at DISNEY WORLD) -- the HANOVER X-TREME IS COMING!
Hanover X-Treme Indoor Training
Softball is back! Our first indoor training session was outstanding and it was great to see all of the players and families. Indoor practices will continue for the next 7 weeks, each occurring on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m at Stu Daddy's. Personally, and ya'll know me well, I strongly believe we should make eating at "Debbie's Kitchen" after practice a mandatory event to occur every Saturday -- that was some AWESOME southern food!
Our first team discussion after practice was about teamwork. I found this great quote from Babe Ruth. "It's the way a team plays as a whole that determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime." A great season is staring us in the face, as long as we work hard and believe in each one of our teammates! Let's go X-Treme!
This continues to be an exciting time of year. Tournament play and School Ball are right around the corner and we want everyone of our players to be the most prepared that they can be.
Thanks and see ya soon, Coach JT
Mechanicsville Christmas Parade
The girls and coaches participated in the annual Mechanicsville Parade and all displayed the holiday spirit. I personally think we had the best float and of course the characters on the float were amazing.
Thanks to the Hicks' family for holding an outstanding Christmas party. I love food and I couldn't believe how much there was. Again, thanks to Coach Hicks and of course Mrs. Hicks for the great party.
Year Ending Tournament CHAMPIONS!
November 22, 2009 —
Coach JT was very, very, very HAPPY last night. Yes, I did get to eat at my favorite Powhatan eatery (way too much food) with the families and players, but also because the girls finished the 2009 season in style by taking home the "Year Ending" Championship.
The X-Treme won all 4 games on Saturday and played with confidence throughout. Even when we were down, not one player thought we might actually lose. Teamwork and all out effort is what won the Championship game for us. In the first 3 games we were misfiring here and there, but still winning the games, but "WOW" did we put it together in the last game. Every player was crushing the ball, every player was making a HUGE play in the field, every player was cheering on their teammates, and MOST IMPORTANT -- every player was having FUN!
Congratulations ladies and a big thank you to the families that have given the team tremendous support during the season. All of the coaches are looking forward to an exciting 2010 season.
Up Next: Mechanicsville Parade and Year End Party. Indoor Special Fastpitch Tournament: TBD Offseason Indoor Training: January 8th
Thanks to Gabe for coming out on Saturday to help.
Of note: Our record in our last 5 tournaments is 19 wins 3 losses and 1 tie (2 Championships). That's pretty darn good!!!

Powhatan Fall Classic and Updates
X-Treme, another good weekend of softball and the weather even warmed up on Sunday. I know we’d like to win every game, but winning 4 and only losing 1 (to a very tough Bobcats team) is something we need to all be proud of. I know I had a great time this weekend, except for Zoe getting sick. Remember girls we play this game because it’s fun – of course winnings is always nice too. Keep working hard ladies and let’s finish the season on a high note.
Thanks to Erin for helping out this weekend.
Of note: Our record in our last 4 tournaments is 15 wins 3 losses and 1 tie. That's pretty darn good!!!

10th Annual Halloween Bash CHAMPIONS and UPDATES
October 18, 2009 —
Amazing softball on Saturday! Way to go ladies, 2 and 0, and rain shortened Champions of the "Halloween Bash". Great pitching, great hitting, and superb fielding made all of the coaches and parents extremely proud.
Thanks to Amanda for helping out this weekend.
Updates We are lucky enough to have Coach Chip Bailey (Christopher Newport College) leading our practice on Sunday, 10/25. Coach Bailey has many years of experience coaching fastpitch and is currently coaching at Christopher Newport College.
*We are finalizing our indoor practice schedule which will start the weekend of January 10th (will run for 8 weeks). *We are also in the process of organizing an end-of-year fundraiser.
*If you are not currently taking Velocity (Speed/Agility and Strength training), please contact me for further information if you are interested. Currently, 5 players have renewed and are starting their 2nd set of 16 sessions next week.

Indian Summer Blast
October 5, 2009 —
Another great weekend of softball and fun... Oh, and the bats came alive. The girls played hard all weekend in Charlottesville, winning 4 games and losing only 1 (to a great Scrappers team, by 1 run). The weather was wonderful, the softball was great and FUN was had by all. We continue to grow as a team and look stronger and stronger each tournament. I think everyone should be excited about the possibilities of this team -- I know I am!
Girls, continue to work hard and finish the Fall season strong! 2 more tournaments to show the other teams what you are made of. Play as a team and we will continue to do well.
Coach JT
Fall Fastpitch Festival
September 20, 2009 —
Another great weekend of softball. The ladies played well again, going 5-1-1, losing 1 game to the eventual champion King William Bobcats. Our defense and pitching were steller throughout the weekend. Our girls allowed 4 runs TOTAL in 7 games played. Our bats were quiet early, but we definitely noticed them beginning to awaken towards the end of the weekend.
The girls finished the weekend by defeating the Richmond Rampage in the Silver Championship and I've got the feeling that this is the beginning of something really good. I think we're all looking forward to our next tournament!
Again, GREAT JOB Hanover X-Treme!!
Coach JT
Labor Day Scramble
Welcome back X-Treme! It was awesome to be back out on the field playing softball. The girls played hard this weekend and gave their all. We played some great defense and the pitching was outstanding, unfortunately our bats fell asleep. Congrats to the RBI Inferno for winning the Championship with some outstanding pitching and key hitting.
We didn't win, but the coaches liked alot of the things that we saw and are very excited about the season to come. Will keep working hard and good things will happen.
Coach JT
Important Updates
Welcome Maddie Hutchison! I would like to personally welcome Maddie to the team and let her know that we are thrilled to have her and her family on board. As always, adding a player with her skills and positive attitude is important to the success of any team.
USSSA World Series 2009
July 27, 2009 —
The Hanover X-Treme players came to Maryland as a strong team and left as an even stronger team. Our girls started off a little rough on Tuesday, but after that day the girls left everything on the field and played to their potential.
The team had an amazing experience together and learned alot about each other. The girls had some great times. My personal favorite, besides the softball, was the day at the beach! I can't remember having that much fun at the beach --- ever... Our team rocks!
Our team went 4 and 4, losing 2 games to the eventual champions. We also lost one game to the 3rd place team (we also beat them once). This was, without a doubt, the toughest competition I had ever seen an the our ladies did well. I would like to thank all the players, families, and other coaches for an outstanding week of softball.
Queen of the Hill
June 30, 2009 —
I think we can all say that we had FUN and played some great softball during this tournament. We won't talk about the end of the day Friday, but will focus on how we played Saturday. Beating a very tough Hanover Thunder Blue team and then coming soooooo close to taking down the eventual champions -- Richmond Rampage (3 to 1). I would like to remind everyone that we were one of the few 13U teams in the field and in my opinion we never backed down to the older teams. Our next stop is the 13U World Series in Maryland and I'm very excited about the possibilities.
The coaches would like to thank everyone for their support during the tournament. The cookout was outstanding and the girls, obviously had more FUN than any other team out there. Watching them do the "Thriller" dance was a trip and the other teams intently watched as well. We definitely have a team that can have "FUN" and play some great ball all at the same time. This is a very special team and we should all be lucky to be part of it.
Coach JT
HANOVER X-TREME CAMPOUT/COOKOUT
The BIGGEST non-softball event of the season was a HUGE success! The girls and parents had an amazing time and are already counting down the days until next year's Campout.
Players and parents went swimming, played games, told riddles and jokes, played Wii, watched a movie, sat by the campfire and made smores, and that was just on Saturday. This was a great way to relax and really bond as a team. Zoe's grandparents have already invited us back for next year.
We even had time on Sunday to get in a little practice -- which was suprising considering that most of the girls stayed up until 4:00 a.m. After practice the Wii playing and the swimming continued.
Thanks so much to Zoe's grandparents for hosting the event and a special thanks to all the players and parents for being great supporters of the Hanover X-Treme.
I will post the Hanover X-Treme Trivia questions and survey results later. The picture at the top is a snapshot of the "Balloon Battle" -- won by the "Red" team!
Welcome Jaynie!
Welcome Jaynie Rogers to the Hanover X-treme family. We are extremely happy to have you and your family as part of our family. It's always great to add players with your skill and attitude to an organization and we look forward to many fun-filled tournament weekends.
See you at the X-Treme Campout this coming weekend!
Crown Trophy Champions 2009
June 21, 2009 —
How bout them Hanover X-Treme girls? We played amazing all weekend and took home the GOLD! We went 5-1, playing with lots of heart in every game. On Saturday we had to play 4 games and play them with only 9 girls. Our girls took a "can do" attitude and played with gusto all day. Sunday we came out a little sluggish, but started to fire on all cylinders and quickly showed our true abilities. Our little team keeps on truckin! In the championship game we defeated a tough "Bobcats" team, 10 to 1 to take home 1st place.
We love our girls!
I would like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" for the extremely thoughtful "Father's Day" gift! I'm very proud to be part of such a great family/team. You all truly rock!
I'm also lookiing forward to an awesome "Campout/Cookout" on Saturday! Please bring your Saturday uniform because we are going to take a "Team photo" to submit for the World Series program.
Coach JT
2009 USSSA Eastern Virginia State Champions
Congratulations to our well-deserving team on winning the 2009 Eastern Virginia State Championship. The girls went undefeated on their way to taking home the trophy. Every player contributed in some way to this great accomplishment, which makes it even more enjoyable. Afterwards, some of the players decided to enjoy the rest of the weekend by heading to the beach and taking a swim. I think they were a little crazy because the water was not exactly warm. Gotta love 13 and 14 year olds..........
GREAT JOB!
HANOVER X-TREME CAR WASH
Thanks to all the players, parents, and family members that came out to support the girls quest to reach the USSSA World Series. The girls washed some cars and of course got each other a little soaked.
Allison picked flowers, Jess jumped in the mud, Victoria got really, really, really wet, Taylor attempted to throw rocks across Brook Rd (not the greatest of ideas), Becca was scared while watching Zoe try to kill ants with a marker, Haleigh was a "hose" hog, but she did share her 100 Grand Bar, and Zoe enjoyed the pizza and the Browns in the Super Bowl.
THANKS
Memorial Day Tournament Weekend
Hmmm, where do I start! What a great weekend of Hanover X-Treme softball and team FUN! We played some good ball all weekend, going 3 and 2 and losing a nail-biter on Sunday. It was great to see all the girls start smacking the ball all over the place and the defense was rock solid. This group of young ladies has some great things to look forward to in the near future.
I've got to mention the "Laser-Tag" and "Go-Kart" racing on Saturday night. I think Jessica and Haleigh have found a new career -- "Hitmen". They were scary good at the laser tag event on Saturday afternoon. Of course I must mention that Coach Robbie was dominating at the Go-Kart racing as he crushed Coach Mike and Coach JT. Rematches for both events will have to happen soon.
I will post some pictures if someone sends me some............
Coach JT
Hanover X-Treme Yard Sale
Thanks to the parents, players, and families for helping support the team this weekend. The girls and their families helped raise over $800 towards our upcoming tournaments and other team expenses.
Mother's Day Shootout
Great job this past weekend ladies! We had a nice win against a tough "Stingers" team and another nice game as we tied "Strikeforce". Unfortunately, our bats fell asleep and we lost a 1 run game to the Bobcats in bracket play (the coming storm might have influenced the poor play at the end --- it was kinda scary) Congrats to the Bobcats on winning the tournament and we look forward to seeing them again...
I hope school ball is going well for everyone and we'll see you at the yard sale this weekend.
Next tournament: Memorial Day at Poor Farm Park (USSSA)
AD Starr Showdown at Dorey Park
The girls played fantastic on an amazing softball weekend. We enjoyed great weather, great food, and great softball all weekend. Our hard working and fun loving players made it to the GOLD final, after a thrilling 1 run semi-final game against the Northern Neck Rage. In the Gold final against the West End Wrath our bats fell asleep, but the girls still played with lots of heart and I never gave up. I see many finals in our future and I'm extremely happy to be part of such a wonderful organization.
Thanks to our players, parents, and the families that came out to support us this weekend. I would like to say an extra thanks to Deb Pollock for bringing some mouth watering BBQ for our Saturday picnic. Great job everyone and I'm already looking forward to our next tournament.
NSA Chesterfield Classic (Silver Champions!)
What a perfect weekend for softball! Sunshine and warm days! Now, only if the umpiring crew knew where to measure the batters box from, knew the courtesy runner rule, knew that the Silver Braceket always uses a time limit, knew that it's probably not a good idea to take a batter's bat from her during an at bat and measure the batter's box incorrectly, etc.
The players overcame adversity and woke up from their Saturday slumber to play "team" softball on Sunday and win 3 straight games in route to the Silver Championship! Each player played an important role in helping the X-Treme win there first title of the year.
Thank you parents for your support and enthusiasm throughout the weekend. Thank you players for never giving up and playing up to your potential on Sunday. Players, remember why we play the game -- it's to have "FUN" and winning is nice too. Each player was respectfull to other players and coaches and showed the "right" attitude all weekend and that's important. We want to have great ball players, but we also want players that know how to act (when they are winning or losing).
Congratulations and let's continue to "never be satisfied"!
Next Tournament: AD Starr Showdown -- April 18-19, Dorey Park
Hanover X-Treme Players RULE School Ball
Each Hanover X-Treme 13U player made their respective school ball team this season! Each player will truly add to their school team and make their coaches very happy. Our team is made up of girls who honestly believe in "Team" first -- no one girl takes center stage and coaches love to see that.
Congratulations to:
Zoe M. 7th Brookland Middle Megan P. 8th Liberty Middle Taylor S. 8th Brunswick Academy (Varsity) Ashley N. 8th Edward Wyatt Middle Jessica H. 8th Chickahominy Middle Delani F. 7th Chickahominy Middle Becca H. 8th Stonewall Middle Allison S. 8th Stonewall Middle Haleigh C. 8th Stonewall Middle Victoria H. 7th Stonewall Middle Taylor L. 8th Stonewall Middle
Spring Fling Tournament
Tournament has been cancelled due to the moisture in the air! Unfortunately, we are a softball team and not a team of mud wrestlers or we could be having a blast this weekend. Stay tuned for a possible late afternoon practice on Sunday.
Our next tournament is the NSA Chesterfield Classic on 4/4 - 4/5 and is to be held at the Byrd Softball Complex. Times should be out by tomorrow.
Spring Thaw Tournament
GREAT first tournament ladies! Ya'll played fantastic yesterday, beating some very good teams. We played so well on Sunday that we were seeded #1 in our bracket, which allowed us to sleep in a little on Sunday. The girls celebrated by enjoying dinner at Vinnie's -- where they met some New Jersey girl soccer players and had some very interesting conversations.
Sunday we lost a hard fought game to the Lady Titans, which was nail biter down to the last out. We ended our tournament by losing to an extremely talented Shamrocks team. In the Shamrocks game we went down early, but battled back and never gave up. We fell a little short, but the coaches couldn't be more proud the heart that the girls displayed.
Next weekend, let's continue moving forward and learn from our mistakes. We would like to thank all of the players, parents, and families for a "fun-filled" softball weekend.
See ya in a week and "GOOD LUCK" to all the ladies trying out for school ball this coming week.
Krispy Kreme Donut Fundraiser 2/28
Our first Krispy Kreme Fundraiser was a huge success! All the girls and parents worked hard at raising money for the team. They braved the wind, cold, and rain like champions. Due to their effort and the hard work of our parents we raised over $800 and the girls had a blast doing it!
Some girls stayed all day and even skipped lunch because they were having so much fun. At least we did allow them to snack on some delicious Krispy Kreme donuts! It was great watching them work together and really bond as a team. We definitely have some great personalities on this team! Check out the Photo Album to see some of the pictures.
Look out World because we have our first tournament on March 14/15!
PRACTICE REMINDER: FRIDAY, 6:30PM STU DADDYS
Indoor Practice and Outdoor Practices
Both Friday and Saturday practices were great! You ladies continue to grow and come together as one, which is nice to see. The coaches want to thank the parents and players for their dedication so far and based on what we have seen this is going to be a fun season.
We learn something new about our our players every week. Friday night some of us went to the Bistro and enjoyed some sumptious food and enjoyed watching Zoe and Megan play some fooseball. Several of us enjoyed learning that Becca does NOT enjoy cutting up her own food (pictures coming soon). We love ya no matter what Becca!
Immediately after practice Friday, we held a short team meeting to discuss; the 2009 schedule, fundraising ideas and dates, player and parent expectations, team goals, and sponsorship needs. The meeting was a success and we look forward to the upcoming season!
Indoor Practice -- Great Job Ladies!
Indoor Practice went fantastic! We did learn that Victoria, at times, has difficulty running/walking without tripping over her feet :). We also learned that the girls have absolutely no problem with their ability to communicate! Overall the coaches are extremely happy with what we saw last night and considering our first tournament is less than a month from now --- that's a good thing.
Great practice on Sunday! Thanks for your focus and attention to detail during practice.
