Congratulations to Sammy Colbray for being Hermiston High School's
first "Incoming Freshman"All American Greco National Champion!

Sammy went on to take 5th in Freestyle and is now a 2X All American!!!! Great Job Sammy

In addition Tyler Berger took 4th
at the ASICS Freestyle Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota.
He is now a 2X All American!
Tyler spent most of his summer training with the Best of the Best.  First, he trained in California with All American and movie star Nate Parker. He then continued onto camp in Clackamas Oregon to train for the camp in Colorado Springs, CO at the Olympic Training Center.

One week at the OTC was intense with the extreme altitude.  But, after the regular campers left he spent another week
living with and training side by side with current and future Olympians.
Check out his Facebook page after he gets back from South Africa with the Oregon Cultural Exchange team for all the great pictures with Rulon Gardner,
Dan Gable, Jordon Burroughs and many more!

Last but not least Hermiston had
3 wrestlers and 1 Coach
who made the Oregon Cultural Exchange Team
who are currently in South Africa.

Abraham Rodriguez, Isaac Aguilar, Tyler Berger
were Champions in the Cultural Exchange Qualifying Tournament
and  Coach Rob Berger was invited to come as a Referee and a Coach!!!
What a great experience for these 4!!!!
We will have to get together when they return on August 13th
for a recap of the Summer Events!

Follow the Oregon Cultural Exchange Wrestling Team on this site:

They have landed in Dubai for several hours and will continue on to South Africa later today. (July 25th)

Four Hermiston wrestlers sealed first-place finishes at the

single-elimination
Best of the West tournament on Wednesday.

Thursday, December 23, 2010 2:27 pm | Updated: 2:30 pm, Thu Dec 23, 2010.  East Oregonian

“We had a few guys sick and hurt a little bit from the previous weekend, so we didn’t really take a full team over there,” said coach Curt Berger. “But the guys that wrestled there did real well.”

Hermiston beat Centralia in the Best of the West duals portion on Tuesday. On Wednesday, theBulldogs bested a third-place Deer Park team that defeated Hermiston by half a point at the Tri-State meet last week.

The Bulldogs will take their Christmas vacation time to heal their bodies before starting the second half of the season in January. Their first chance to hit the mats will be the Rollie Lane Tournament Jan. 7-8 in Boise, Idaho.
