HH's Crim & Hens Named Pitcher & Player of the Year
The HH River Bandits went 9-0 in the regular season before losing in the HHFBL semi-finals. They had two individual players recognized for their outstanding acheivement this fall.

Zach Crim (Hatboro-Horsham Class of 2012) was voted as the Pitcher of the Year for 2011. Crim was a groundball machine and demonstrated the ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes at all times. Zach showed great mound presence and was dominant all fall. He was completely committed to the team and did whatever was asked of him.

Crim's Fall Pitching Line: 4-0, 30IP, 19H, 4R, 34K, 6BB, 0.93 ERA

Chris Hens (Hatboro-Horsham Class of 2012) was voted as the Player of the Year for 2011. Hens was a team leader this fall. He played 2B during the school season, but he played mostly SS this fall due to the team's need. His defense was very good all fall and he was unbelievable at the plate. He’s a fierce competitor and a great teammate.

HH Hot Rods & PW Mounties Win HHFBL Championships
A week later than originally scheduled, the HHFBL got a great weekend to complete the 2011 HHFBL Playoffs. The Hatboro-Horsham Hot Rods defeated the CB Wizards 14-7 in the National League Championship game on Saturday afternoon at Horsham Little League's Complex. The Wizards, the number one seed, advanced to the championship by defeating Tribe White in the semifinal. The Hot Rods, the third seed, knocked off Hard Ball Concepts in their semifinal match.

In the American League playoffs, the PW Mounties walked away as the 2011 Champions with an 8-6 win over the Gold Canes at Hatfield's School Road Park on Sunday. HHFBL & Louisville Slugger Hooking Up Again in 2011
The Hatboro-Horsham Fall Baseball League is proud to announce that it will continue it's working relationship with Louisville Slugger and sales representative Mick Pileggi, Jr in the Fall of 2011.

As has been the case for the past several years, Louisville Slugger will have their BBCOR bats (see below) available for teams to demo for a weekend if they choose to do so. Coaches are encouraged to contact Mick Pileggi at mick.pileggi@slugger.com or 215-491-6977 (office) or 267-784-5288 (cell) if they would like to set up a free demo weekend for their team.

New to the HHFBL this year, Louisville Slugger will be putting on a free demo night for all players in the HHFBL. This will be an opportunity for players to come out to Nor-Gwyn's Hostelly Field on Sunday night, September 25th between the hours of 5:00 - 7:00 pm and take BP with any of the Louisville Slugger bats. This same night, The Run Around sporting goods store will have the Louisville Slugger bats available for purchase at a discounted rate for any players attending the Demo Night.

Louisville Slugger Comes Through Again for HHFBL
The HHFBL would like to thank Louisville Slugger for their continued support of our league. Louisville Slugger rep Mick Pileggi went over the top yet again in an effort to help make our fall league the best in the area. In addition to his attendance at several games this fall, Mick provided several teams with bats for the players to demo and had other Louisville Slugger equipment available on many weekends. Louisville Slugger also donated engraved commerative wooden bats to the Player of the Year (Eric Heaney) and Pitcher of the Year (Rich Houck). In addition to everything mentioned above, Louisville Slugger also donated an aluminum bat of the championship teams' choices to Upper Moreland and Tribe Green.

We look forward to working with Mick and Louisville Slugger again in 2011 as they are a big part of making our league the best around.

HHFBL Player of the Year: Eric Heaney, Senior Catcher, Hatboro-Horsham Rock Hounds
Eric has developed into a very solid defensive catcher to go along with his hitting prowess. Eric has a strong arm and doubled as the team's closer this fall. His low to mid 80's fastball translates as a catcher into him being able to shut down opponents running games. He does a nice job receiving and is excellent with balls in the dirt. Eric has also developed his ability to call a game and does so on his own both in the fall and spring. At the plate, Eric has great bat speed which produces homerun power and line drives to all fields. He is also a very good baserunner with good instincts and above average speed.

HHFBL Pitcher of the Year: Rich Houck, Senior Pitcher, Ivy Ridge Panthers
Rich was the ace of the Panthers staff going 4 – 0 for the season. He was a shut down pitcher with great command of all his pitches. With Rich on the mound his team played with great confidence and he is a true leader by example.

Thank you to all of the volunteers that enabled the 2010 HHFBL season to be a success. We hope to see everyone back in 2011.
Upper Moreland Completes Perfect Fall Season With Championship Win Over Nor-Gwyn
November 8, 2009 – 05:57 PM — The HHFBL finally had some good weather, and with that came some outstanding baseball. The HHFBL Playoffs were played on Saturday and Sunday, with the quarterfinals on Saturday at 2:00 pm due to SAT's and the semifinals and final were played at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm on Sunday. Of the seven playoff games played, four of them were one run games.

The Upper Moreland Bears, who were 9-0 in the regular season, captured the title with a 6-2 victory over Nor-Gwyn. UM advanced to the final after defeating Father Judge 4-0 and Wissahickon 3-2. Nor-Gwyn advanced to the final after beating Tribe Green 5-4 and then defeating Abington on the power of a walk-off triple in the bottom of the 7th inning.

In the other first round games, Wissahickon beat the HH Timber Rattlers 6-5 and Abington defeated Pennridge 7-3. Pennridge came into the playoffs as the number one overall seed after going a perfect 10-0 in the regular season.
UM's McInerney and Abington's Ruch Earn Individual HHFBL Honors
November 8, 2009 – 06:07 PM — The HHFBL individual honors have been announced. Dave McInerney, a junior catcher from Upper Moreland, has been named the HHFBL Player of the Year. Jake Ruch, a senior pitcher from Abington, has been named the HHFBL Pitcher of the Year.

Both players received a baseball bat from Louisville Slugger with their honor engraved on the barrel.

The talent in the league this fall was outstanding and several players stood out, making this a very tough decision for the HHFBL Board of Directors.

The 2009 HHFBL Season was a rousing success thanks in a large part to the efforts of the numerous volunteers who made the league possible. The HHFBL Board would like to give a sincere "Thank you" to all of the coaches who gave up their weekends and made it possible for the young men to play baseball this fall.

Despite the rough weather, the flexibility and determination of all involved to get the kids to play as much baseball as possible was yet another part of what continues to make the HHFBL one of the best opportunities for kids to play baseball in the fall. We are looking forward to a great 2010.
HHFBL Set to Open 4th Season on September 12
August 31, 2009 – 12:27 PM — The Hatboro-Horsham Fall Baseball League is set to open on Saturday, September 12th. This year the league has expanded to 21 teams and will be utilizing fields spread out around the area. The schedule has been finalized and can be found by clicking on the "Schedules" link on the left hand side of this page.

The teams participating this year will be:

Abington Threshers
Black Gnats (LC)*
Bristol 30's*
CB Emeralds
CB Wizards
Cheltenham Blue Cats*
Cheltenham Gold Cats
Father Judge*
Green Gnats (LC)*
Hatfield*
HH Sand Gnats
HH Sidewinders
HH Timber Rattlers*
Ivy Ridge Panthers
Nor-Gwyn Hawks
Pennridge Vipers*
PW Clippers
Tribe Green
Tribe White
Wissahickon Clippers
Upper Moreland*

* = teams new to the league

Teams will play an 11 or 12 game schedule (some play 12 at no extra cost b/c of a scheduling issue with a 21st team). We will be utilizing ten fields this fall which can be found by clicking on the Venues/Direction link on the left hand side of the page.

All games will be played with a 2 hour time limit. No new inning will be started after two hours from the start of the game. Due to the limited light, teams will not be taking infield outfield before any scheduled games except for the first games scheduled on the field for that day. We want to stay on schedule so that all teams can complete their games. Before the first game of the day on a field, the home team will have use of the field 25 minutes prior to the start of the game and the visiting team will have the field 15 minutes prior. Each team may take a 10 minute infield-outfield in this situation. Again, games after the first game of the day on a field will not include infield-outfield.

After each game, the winning team should enter the final score so that the standings can be kept on this website.

The top 8 teams will make the playoffs that will be played on Saturday, October 31st and Sunday, November 1st. It will be a single elimination playoff tournament.

Final standings will be based on winning percentage. If two teams are tied, the tie-breakers will be as follows:

1. Head-to-Head Competition (If more than 2 teams are tied, then your record against all tied teams will break the tie.)
2. Record against the 1st place team (all teams must have played the team being considered for the tie-breaker or you move to the next highest team)
3. Record against the 2nd place team
4. Record against the 3rd place team (continues 4 - 12)
5. Fewest runs allowed
6. Coin Flip

Due to the fact that we have a limited number of weekends and limited light, it is likely that we won't make up any rainouts.

We are looking forward to a great fall!
