WELCOME TO HOPKINS FASTPITCH
The Royals have built a
strong tradition over the years, with
outstanding performances on the field and in the classroom. We are proud
of our
student-athletes for their commitment to excellence!
The National
Fastpitch Coaches Association recently announced that the 2010
Royals earned high
national rankings for team grade point average. Over the years the team
has
achieved top honors in the country eleven times,
including finishing
number one in 2002, 2006,
2007, and 2008. Additionally, more
than 55 Royals have received the NFCA All-America Scholar
Athlete Award.
On the field,
the Royals have won 18 Classic Lake Conference Championships, 1 Lake Conference Championship. Players
have consistently
earned spots on first and second All-Conference teams. In fact, over 50
players have been named
to these prestigious teams since 1997. The Royals have won the Section
6AA and
AAA Championship six times – 1996,1997, 1998, 2008, 2009
and 2011. During
Campbell’s five trips to the State
Tournament, the Royals finished first in
1997, second in 1998 and fifth in 2008 & 2009 along with a third place finish last year 2011. The softball program
has made eleven trips to the State tournament!
Heading the
Royals coaching staff is Anne Campbell, who has taken the Royals to five
State
Tournaments, five Region Championships and eight Classic Lake
Championships and now one Lake Conference Championship.
Campbell brings thirty plus years of coaching experience to the program. Campbell coached
fastpitch softball all over the country, fifteen years as a collegiate
coach, including
spending eleven years coaching at the Division I level, before returning home to
Minnesota to guide the Royals. During the summer of 1984, she coached a USA Athletes in Action
team and toured Sweden and Finland. Campbell has been inducted into the
University St. Cloud State’s Athletic Hall of Fame, where she
participated in basketball and softball.
Campbell
has put together an outstanding coaching staff. Varsity
