The Houston Gunners are a semi-pro football team comprised of public safety personnel. All players are required to be public safety personnel to play in the NPSFL. This includes police, fire, emt, corrections, and other public safety career fields.
The Houston Gunners are a full contact football team in the National Public Safety Football League. The Gunners have been playing for 13 years. The Gunners play other police departments, fire departments, and correction departments around the nation; there are 22 public safety teams in the league. Also the Gunners play semi-pro football teams in the State of Texas.
The Houston Gunners have played in five National Public Safety Football League championships, the first being in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2004. The Gunners won the National Championship in 1999, the N.P.S.F.L. Championship 2003 and the N.P.S.F.L. DII Championship 2004.
The Houston Gunners are a registered 501 C (3) nonprofit organization, that was founded in October 1994 by Houston Police Officers to raise funds for charitable organizations through full-contact football.
 Several of these charities are the:
Assist the Officer foundation - provides partial financial support to Police Officers who are injured or disabled
Greater Houston Pop Warner - a nonprofit national little league program - Pop Warner Little Scholars Inc.
Profits from home football games are directed towards these charities, primary for the needs of children and adults, most of whom are under privileged and rely on charitable organizations for assistance and support in their formative years.
Proceeds from the regularly scheduled football games will be donated to Assist the Officer Foundation and Greater Houston Pop Warner.

Hello Everyone,
The Gunners' Golf Tournament was a success, and I want to thank everyone that helped out on making it a success.
All board members/Coaches dues are due at the January 2010. The board members' dues are due at the January board meeting. Dues are $300.00 for board member and $500.00 for players. The players' dues are due in January 2010. We want to go into the season in February 2010 with dues paid...
Sponsorship letters are ready and you can get them from Coach Allee or me.

Our NPSFL season is set and its a good schedule. We will travel to Dallas (Defenders) and South California (Blue Knights). Our home games are against the Central Texas Wolf Pack and New York's Strongest. We will begin practice on Jan 16th 2010. We will play three pre-season games before we enter the NPSFL season (Feb 2010 & March 2010).
We will have more upcoming fund raisers to bring in needed funds for the 2010 season.
If you are interested in playing during the 2010 season, I need to talk to you one on one. Email so we can set up a time to talk about our upcoming 2010 season.
We are always looking for football players. If you are working in the Public Safety field, and you want to play full-contact semi-pro football, send your contact info to verret1011@aol.com.
