2015 Season Kick Off Information
Highland Springs Saints . . . Are You Ready???
Our Season officially starts on August 10th!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning families!
We still have a few slots available on each of our teams.
Please let your friends and family know.
Here’s some information, for you, to help kickoff another successful season:
§ We still have a few slots open on our teams, particularly 9U and 11U. We will continue to register kids this week.
§ In the event of practice delays (due to heat advisory) or cancellations, we will send out a league email. In addition, your team mom will notify you.
§ You can also check our Facebook page, or website, after 4pm, for any updates.
§ You can also contact Henrico County’s Rec line, 804-501-5132 (after 3:00 pm) if you are concerned about field closure/practice cancellations due to inclement weather.
Football Players: DMV IDs are needed, ASAP!
§ Players cannot get rostered (or play in games) without the ID.
§ Families are asked to participate in the league fundraiser and sell 10 Papa John pizza cards or pay the $30 opt out fee.
Preliminary Game Schedule (all games are scheduled for Saturdays)
§ Away = we travel to them
§ Home = we play at the Saints field
§ Sept 5th – Tri Rivers (away)
§ Sept 12th – East End (away)
§ Sept 19th – Varina (home)
§ Sept 26th – Glen Lea (away)
§ Oct 3rd – Sandston (home) *Also our Homecoming
§ Oct 10th – Middlesex (away)
§ Oct 17th – Charles City (home)
§ Oct 24th – Chamberlayne (home)
§ Our 1st official practice is on Monday, August 10th, from 6pm to 8 pm.
o That week, we will practice Mon to Fri from 6pm to 8pm. Football players will focus on conditioning and non-contact drills.
o We will also practice on Saturday, August 15th from 9am to Noon.
o Football players please wear loose fitting light colored tee/tank, basketball shorts, and cleats/sneakers for the 1st week of practice.
o Cheerleaders please wear regular shorts or leggings and tie up sneakers. Due to the weather, please no jeans of any type (shorts, skirts, or pants and no sandals of any type.
§ August Practice – 6pm to 8pm weekdays
o Cheerleaders - practice Monday to Thursday ONLY!
o Football Players - practice Monday to Friday
Meet and Greet
§ Parents’ Meeting/Meet and Greet will occur on Monday, August 17th at 7:00 pm, while the kids are practicing.
o Please meet on the main field bleachers.
o Come hang out with our Coaches and Board members and enjoy a snack or two!
§ Most teams will meet their Team Mom(s), as well.
Parental “Game Day” Responsibilities
§ Please see your Team Mom to sign up to bring oranges, drinks, and snacks on game days.
§ Parents are also asked to sign up for Concession duty (home games).
§ Parents are also asked to sign up for Chain Crew duty (away games). Chain crew sign-ups are due the Thursday BEFORE the game.
§ All fees must be paid prior to equipment being issued.
§ We will begin issuing equipment, towards the end of the 1st week of practice.
§ We will notify you when your team is slated to be issued equipment.
o Flag players will be issued a mouthpiece, soft helmet, game socks, game pants, and a game jersey.
o 7U and up will be issued a mouthpiece, helmet w/chin strap, shoulder pads, 7 series pads, game socks, game pants and a game jersey.
§ Please ensure that you are around to sign for your player's equipment, or they will not be able to get equipment.
§ Please do not drop your player off. Ensure that your team mom or coach knows, if you must step away from the field.
§ Please park near the playground, behind the Adult Education Center, and near the baseball field.
§ NO PARKING in the Concession area. This is for the safety of our youngest athletes that practice and play in that area.
§ NO PARKING on Reed St. Should you decide to park there, please know that Henrico's finest WILL ticket you and have you towed, at your own expense.
§ Please DO NOT use inappropriate language on the field OR near any of our players.
§ Please DO NOT smoke on the field, as dictated by Henrico Parks & Rec.
