"Click Here" To Sign Petition for Matawan/Aberdeen Community CenterRecent reports state the first hour after dismissal has the highest crime rate for school age children. Gangs are on the rise in Monmouth County. Single Working Parent population is on the increase. Childhood obesity is a serious health concern.
We need to have a safe haven for our children. For this reason Husky Sports (501 © (3) ) a non-profit organization supports the idea of building a community center. We are looking to include: an ice rink, wall climbing, golf/batting cages, basketball/volleyball courts, running/walking track, pool, meeting rooms and fitness center
The community center will:
Accommodate a multitude of Youth, Senior and Interscholastic sports
(i.e. ice hockey, swimming, volleyball and basketball)
Monthly Family Night
Meeting Rooms (i.e. corporate events, special events)
Party Facilities
Activities for Senior Citizens
Fitness Facility
A Self-sustaining venue (no tax dollars)
Husky Sports would greatly appreciate your support for this project. We do have the support and cooperation of our elected officials spearheaded by Mayor David Sobel. However, we as a community need to let them know that a community center is just what our town needs. Congressman Frank Pallone has earmarked money for our feasibility study, which will assist in moving this project forward.
