MIKE PURRITANO--GOD BLESS YOU COACH
The entire Jersey Bulldog family extends its deepest sympathy to the family of Mike Purritano of Ridgewood, NJ, who passed away on May 12th after a brief illness. Mike was the father of Bulldog Nick Purritano, and just a few weeks ago appeared at the Jersey Bulldog reunion with other parents. He is pictured above, fourth from the left. Mike never coached the Bulldogs, but was a fixture in the Ridgewood youth baseball program for many years and, along with wife Jill were always on our sidelines cheering the boys on. We will all miss you Mike.
BULLDOG REUNION 2012
On April 15, 2012, the 2004-2010 Jersey Bulldog team gathered one final time at our beloved "home" field, Lockwood Field, in Woodcliff Lake. The field was empty, and both players, former coaches and parents reminded themselves of just how big Lockwood used to seem, but how small it now appeared. The players all wore their uniforms, signed baseballs for all of the coaches and autographed the last remaining "Bulldog Country" placard known to exist.

The pictures from this one time event follow...
Another great baseball week for St Joseph star and former Bulldog Rob Kaminsky!
What a group of talent. TOP ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: John Molinelli, Manager, Bob Muggeo, Coach, Ari Kaufman, Mike Dambrosio, Alex Gulati, Cory Pic, Coach Gary Kanwisher, Evan Stern, Rob Kaminsky, Matt Kozuch, Coach Yvon Pic, Chris DiChiaro, Jesse Roth, Mark Cieslak, General Manager Mark Cieslak. FRONT ROW, LEFT TO RIGHT: Shawn Kanwisher, Alex Muggeo, Johnathan Molinelli, Mike Poleway, Nick Purritano, Tyler Blind and Dan Sabatino.
How many cold nights, long trips and hot days. They remember each kid and each moment. Thank you parents.
It all started out of Montvale and Woodcliff Lake at tiny Rinzler Field in June 2004. These Cowboys now makeup a large part of Coach Frank Eufemia's great program. Cory Pic, Mike Poleway, Johnathan Molinelli and Dan Sabatino.
Coach Frank Salvano enjoys the talents of these Bulldog players (and many others from prior years). Coach Gary Kanwisher, Coach Bob Muggeo, Shawn kanwisher, Alex Muggeo, Rob Kaminsky, Matt Kozuch, Mark Cieslak and Coach mark Cieslak.
No rivalries back then when these Bosco kids called the St Joe kids their teammates. Many Bosco players are former Bulldogs from prior years, including Joe Purritano and Tommy Burns. These Juniors will be heard from! Alex Gulati and Chris DiChiaro.
Ari Kaufman, Ramapo; Mike Dambrosio, Westwood; Evan Stern, River Dell; Tyler Blind, Glen Rock; Nick Purritano, Ridgewodd and Jesse Roth, Horace Mann.
We missed some players and coaches but want to do a shout out to Coach Lou DiChiaro (Don Bosco), Noah Rosenberg (Dwight Englewood), Tim Barnes (River dell) and Joey Crespo (Cliffside Park).
Welcome
We are the JERSEY BULLDOGS, a club baseball organization organized by former Cincinnati Reds player Mark Cieslak consisting of teams from 9u up to the High School level, playing out of Northern Bergen County, New Jersey. Our teams have accomplished much since its inception in 2004, but most of all we have produced outstanding baseball players, who understand not just the how of baseball, but also its character and spirit which will last long after their playing days are over. Our teams and players have appeared in just about every major tournament in the area, as well as Cooperstown Dreams Park, Triple Crown World Series, and leagues sanctioned by the USSSA, ECTB, CERBO, and PBI. While occasionally together for tournaments, and often appearing on opposite sides of the diamond as competitiors, all are now playing at the High School level and are no longer active as a team. This web site is designed to track their progress. Please do not contact us to inquire of openings, since the team no longer competes as a team.

Where are they now??
Just a list of where some of the 2005-2011 Bulldog players are today. All but those noted will graduate in 2013.

APPROVED BATS FOR HIGH SCHOOL PLAY
January 18, 2011 NCAA Baseball Bat Certification

Bat performance is measured in a controlled laboratory environment using an air cannon as described in the glossary. To measure the performance of NCAA baseball bats, the Bat-Ball Coefficient of Restitution (or BBCOR) test protocol is followed. The National Highschool Federation will use the Ball Exit Speed Ratio (or BESR) test for the 2011 season, and will adopt the BBCOR test thereafter.

The performance of some composite bats can change with use. To help ensure composite bats do not exceed the performance limit, the NCAA developed an Accelerated Break-In test protocol (or ABI). All composite bats must pass the ABI test protocol to be NCAA certified.

We thank the NCAA Bat Certification facility at the Washington State University Sport Science Laboratory for this information.

You can access from their web site the following links:

The links below lists the baseball bat models that are currently certified by the NCAA and NFHS. Just copy and paste them into a new window on your Browser. Good Luck!
