What are the requirements for summer?

Practices will begin on August 4th for green and gold teams. We will practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays prior to attending Pine Forest Camp (August 17-20). Times for practices will be 6:00-8:00pm.

Practices will begin on August 12 for the white team.

    What are the fees involved?

White Team: $110 per girl ($135 for non-residents) & purchase of hygienic wear for an additional $100-125 per girl.

Green & Gold Teams: $150 per girl ($175 for non-residents), purchase of hygienic and camp wear for an additional $200-250 per girl.

    Is there a fundraising requirement?

All cheerleaders are expected to participate in fundraising activities. This season we expect to have several opportunities for tag day and perhaps another fundraiser.

What are the opportunities for camp?

There are two camps that the girls are strongly encouraged to attend. The first is a day camp experience at North Hunterdon High School. It will run August 10-13 from 8am to noon. To register for this camp, please go to www.nhvweb.net/nhhs. Go to departments, select athletics, then click on the summer camp offerings link. Print the PDF file. Fill out the needed information and send in the registration and required fee.

The second camp experience is limited to girls on the green and gold teams and is a requirement for participation. This camp is an overnight experience that runs from August 17-20 at Pine Forest Cheer Camp in the Pocono Mountains.

Additionally there is a stunting clinic that the older teams typically attend. It is run by the North Hunterdon Varsity Cheerleaders, who are ranked 7th nationally. It is usually in late September or early October. Of course, the white team is welcome to attend provided it does not conflict with a game.

What are the opportunities for cheerleading competitions?

The primary goal for the Junior Lions Cheerleaders is to support the football program. We cheer at games in all kinds of weather. We do however have opportunities to attend cheerleading competitions.
Junior Lions Cheerleaders typically compete three times per season. All competitions are sponsored by local high schools. Green and gold teams will compete. White teams may exhibition at one competition. Parents will be polled as the season progresses.
