The Royals earned a berth into the tournament by winning the Hot Stove Classic the week before. At the end of day two, the Royals stood with a record of 3-1, placing them 2nd overall entering the Championship Bracket.
In the semi-final game, the Royals found themselves down 6-0 versus the #3 seed Forrest Hills Bombers. ABOUT THE KINGSON ROYALS

The Kingson Royals Youth Athletic Ministries (or "KRYAM") is a Christian faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3), accredited youth sports organization based in Anne Arundel County Maryland. KRYAM was founded in the summer of 2004 based on the goals and vision of its founders Gary Bierc and Steve Fowler. Gary and Steve wanted to reach out to the community with a new kind of youth sports program that would combine Christian faith and values with sports at all competitive levels. Their goal was, and still is today, to create a unique environment for children where they could grow and develop as athletes, without sacrificing their morals and values, or running the risk of "burn-out" caused by an exaggerated stress-filled environment typically created on most competitive sports teams. Make no mistake about it, KRYAM travel teams play serious competitive sports, but we try our best not to burden the players beyond what is necessary, depending on the age group and considering their respective level of play, to effectively compete.
Since our inception in 2004, KRYAM has ministered to nearly 400 youth with both spring and fall baseball programs. We began with two baseball teams in the spring of 2005 - fielding 8U and 13/14U teams. In 2006, we expanded the baseball program covering the 9/10U, 11/12U and 13/14U age brackets. In 2007, the baseball ministry more than doubled to 7 teams in the 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, & 16U age brackets. In late 2009/2010, KRYAM put its 1st basketball team on the court, playing in the AA County 14U (D) "Duke" League. In 2010, KRYAM will continue its travel baseball tradition, but will introduce its NEW RECREATIONAL BASEBALL PROGRAM for ages 7-11.
On February 4th, 2008, the Anne Arundel County, Maryland Recreation and Parks Department issued to KRYAM field use permits for Brandon Woods Park in Pasadena, MD. This is a historical moment for the Kingson Royals ministry. For the first time since our inception, the organization now has a home complex from which to offer its youth baseball program! With the addition of this complex, KRYAM's baseball facilities are principally located at: Brandon Woods Park (Pasadena), Solley Park (Pasadena) and Freetown Park (Glen Burnie), with other auxillary locations for practices or games (if necessary). In 2010, KRYAM will be installing a brand new 90 foot diamond and refurbishing an existing T-ball/Coach Pitch field for its recreational baseball program.
In the summer of 2006, KRYAM joined the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Baseball Network. This national organization, shares the vision and mission of KRYAM, but on a global scale, providing KRYAM with the creditability, accountability and resources needed to grow its ministry at a much faster rate locally. FCA Baseball also provides another national tournament venue option (like the AAU, USSSA or Super Series) at which we can compete with teams of similar mission and philosophy to our own.
OUR VISION & MISSION
Vision Statement:
By applying Christian "faith-based" principles, build an unprecedented youth athletic program that will:
1. Shape character and create role models,
2. Positively and significantly impact athletes, coaches, parents, families, officials, leagues, tournaments and our community;
3. Develop and demonstrate the highest level of character, discipline, leadership and service required to succeed in both sports and life.
Mission Statement:
The Mission of KRYAM is to significantly impact our community by developing young athletes into leaders with character and a passion for excellence. We will accomplish this by instilling in our youth a balanced approach to athletics, combining a positive Christ-centered environment with a competitive environment built on expert coaching, strong fundamentals development and an insistence on hustle, discipline, perserverance and FUN - emphasizing the growth of the whole athlete (body, mind, and spirit), using the universal language of sports.
OUR TRAVEL BASEBALL PHILOSOPHY
Unlike other travel teams, the Kingson Royals program looks for the key ingredients needed to develop a "winning athlete" over time (raw talent & desire); we do not just select the best talent possible for the current season only, we look for the "right" talent for the long haul. Our philosophy is to apply the same concentrated and repetitive fundamentals development methods used by college and pro teams at the younger ages, allowing the "big muscles" of the athlete to be properly trained, establishing good muscle memory early in the athlete's career - giving our players an edge as they mature. More importantly, our goal is to develop the whole athlete - each practice and game is framed in prayer and our coaches challenge the players personally and spiritually with a "ministry talk" every practice. We demonstrate our long-term commitment to the players and desire for continuity as follows: as long as a player continues to demonstrate hardwork and adherence to the team rules and philosophy, he will never be cut from the Kingson Royals travel program.
KRYAM uses the Fall Season as a Workout/Tryout Program to provide all interested players with expert coaching and a Baseball Clinic format for individual player development. During the Fall, if the number of players mandate it, Division Managers also evaluate players for selection on their respective "Select" Teams and determine the establishment/continuance of one or more additional teams for their age-group - all based on the level of interest and competitiveness of the Fall participants.
