Bantam wins Grand Valley Championships
The Bantam Klassics won gold in Stratford against the home team in the Grand Valley finals. All the games were well played and the girls earned their spot as leaders among good competition. (although they did not fare as well at the provincials they did keep all the games close and within reach)

KITCHENER KLASSICS SQUIRTS DO IT AGAIN

The Klassics Squirts have now made it 3 medals in the last 3 tournaments with a bronze medal at Provincial Qualifiers in Pickering on July 30th – August 1st. The tournament started with an 11 – 1 mercy of Halton Hills 99. In the second game, we were up against a strong Windsor Wildcats team. After 6 innings, we were tied at 1. In the top of the 7th inning, our girls rallied to score 4 runs. The game ended with a bases loaded double play in the bottom of the 7th. That win guaranteed us a spot in the “A” division for Provincials. We ended up losing our last two games by a score of 3-2 against Mississauga Tigers 1, and 3-2 against the same Windsor team we beat earlier. That brings our medal count to 4, with two more tournaments to go.

Novice Gold Klassics Accomplishments 2010
Novice Gold Takes Bronze in Gator Classic Tier 1 Loop

Our Novice Girls battled right to the last out this past weekend in Guelph to take the Bronze in the very tough Tier 1 division at the annual Gator Classic. Round Robin play was brutal with 1 run losses to both Whitby (7-6) and Guelph (3-2) and a tough late inning loss to Waterloo (6-3) in what can only be described as bit of a nasty affair.

A loss to Waterloo in the semi's saw the girls up against Whitby again in the Bronze Medal game, a very even match-up across the board, so the 7 inning 3-3 tie was no surprise to anyone at the park. With 2 out in the bottom of the 7th, bases drunk with Klassics, and A-Pod facing a tough 0-2 count (Though she claims the next offering was headed out of the park), the Whitby catcher over-threw their pitcher and Cass Wettlaufer sauntered home for the winning run. Ouch... When asked what she thought of the unfortunate gaff after the game, Klassic's starting catcher Nicky Kressler stated simply; "Better her than me...."  Both coaches readily agreed...

Job well done Ladies, a very hard fought well deserved medal.
