WARHAWKS Baseball
Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) Texas, varsity baseball team is a men’s baseball team comprised of all military members. Individual players range in rank from E-2 to O-3 and encompass 15 different military career fields. Our breadth of experience is large to list on one page and so too is our baseball experience.
Lackland AFB has established a Men’s Baseball team to participate in the San Antonio Texas division of the Men’s Senior Baseball League (www.samsbl.com). The Men’s Senior Baseball League was established in 1982 and has grown to over 6,500 teams throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and the Samoan Islands.
The Warhawks main objective is to boost the morale of many fine USAF Athletes and display professionalism while showing off the athleticism of the Air Force personnel. The Warhawks are scheduled for 36 baseball games, plus preseason and postseason tournaments. If the Warhawks qualify, they will travel to the Men’s Senior Baseball League World Series in Phoenix, Arizona held in October. The World Series is host to over 350 teams from various parts of the United States.
Along with Lackland, other Air Force Base varsity baseball teams like the
Andrew AFB, Davis Monthan AFB, Elmendorf AFB, Lackland AFB, Luke AFB, Mountain Home AFB, Nellis AFB, Hill AFB, Hickam AFB AFB, Tinker AFB, Altus AFB, and Vance AFB we hope that baseball becomes an official Varsity Sport for the Air Force.
