October 26, 2009 - 04:00 PM
The '94 Rutherford Lady Rumble completed their 2009 Classic season with an undefeated record of 7-0-2 to finish with 23 points and in first place. Outscoring their opponents with 28 goals for and only 3 against. This record also includes eight shutouts. What a temendous accomplishment for these young ladies. This result will mean a promotion to the NCYSA Classic U16 Girls 1st Division West. Only twenty teams from throughout the state will compete in 1st division. Congratulations ladies!
We Are The Champions!
The '94 Rutherford Lady Rumble is the U15 Girls Champions of the 2009 Dick's Sporting Goods Charlotte Invitational - "The Southeast's Premier Preseason Tournament with over 350 teams in attendance." Winning their four matches 4-1, 2-1, 4-1 and a 2-1 over time victory in the final match. Not only winning the championship but finishing the weekend undefeated, scoring more goals than any other teams in our division, and allowing fewer goals than any other teams in our division, which included several first division teams. What an awesome display of soccer we witnessed this weekend. What a way to kick off the season. Congratulations girls!
