 • HONORARY CAPTAIN OF THE WEEK: 12/14-12/18
 • 2009-2010 TEAM CAPTAINS : Steven Duckworth and Ryan Scott.

Today's game against S.S. Seward has been postponed due to the weather and will take place tomorrow following the girls' game. Tip-off should be around 5:00.
Our game that was supposed to take place on Tuesday, February 16th has been moved to Friday, February 26th. The game is still in Chester and still has a 5:00 start time.

Lakers Fall to West Point
After a long bus ride to West Point, the Lakers fell short. A well coached West Point team put full court pressure on the Lakers early and kept it on throughout the game. The boy's, as they always do, played their hardest until the last seconds ran off the clock. The high scorer was Steven Duckworth with 5 points. Ryan Scott added 4 points as well as plenty of rebounds. Nigel Rivers scored his first points of the season hitting a deep jump shot in the middle of the 3rd period. Jake Olson and Jeremy Maldanado added two points each, and Zack Messick added 1 point for the Lakers.

Final Score: GWL 15 - WP 55
Lakers Bounce Back!
The boy's bounced back from two straight losses with a huge win over local rival Tuxedo in a home game. The game was tied going in to the fourth quarter when the boy's led by Steven Duckworth went on a tear outscoring Tuxedo 16-7! Duckworth was too much for Tuxedo to handle scoring 10 points, 8 of them in the fourth quarter.
Kyle Finn and Pete Sole were second high scorers both with 4 points.
Ryan Scott, Devin Velez, Chris Buckley, Zack Messick, and Zach Williams all scored 2 points.
The entire team had a great game, and looked the best they have all year.

Final Score : Lakers 29 - Tuxedo 20
Lakers lose two straight
The Lakers lost to O'neill today in their first road game of the season. Although the team played very well on defense, we struggled a bit offensively. However, overall the team continues to show great improvement, as well as, hustle and sportsmanship.

Final score: Lakers 15 - O'neill 58
The Lakers lost their first game of the season this Friday, December 18th. Playing host to a very talented Marlboro team, the Lakers couldn't quite handle the constant pressure that Marlboro's press and half court trap put on. The score was ugly, but the boy's played their heart's out until the final whistle blew. Another good thing, we will get a second chance at Marlboro later on in the season. Nice job to all the guy's on the team for staying tough against a very talented basketball team.

High scorer for the game was Steven Duckworth with 6 points. That is two straight games that Steve has been the Laker's leading scorer.

FINAL SCORE - GWL 14 - MAR 69
1-0
The Boy's started off the 2009-2010 Basketball season with by winning big over Chapel Field yesterday, holding Chapel Field to just 5 points. Steven Duckworth was the leading scorer with 12 points. Ryan Scott (8 points) and Jeremy Maldanado (9 points) also had big games, using our size advantage to the fullest. Zach Williams, honorary captain of the week, hit a buzzer beater from just above the free throw line to end the 2nd quarter!

FINAL SCORE : GWL 43 - CF 5
