2008 MD State Champs
The Lake Shore Lightning captured the USSSA state championship this weekend, becoming Maryland's true 12U CHAMPS!!!

2008 ASA State Runner Up
The Lightning endure extreme heat and fierce competition over the weekend and placed second in the ASA states. The girls lost 2 close games in ITB to eventual champ Bayside.
This weekend the team heads to Ocean City before setting its sights on the USSSA states June 20-June 22.
The Lightning have qualified for the NSA, USSSA, ASA and Pony Nationals. On July 19th, they will be headed to Columbus, OH to participate in the NSA Nationals.
Mystic Spring Opener
This past weekend, the Lightning went 2-0 in another rain shortened weekend. Playing in the Mystic Spring Opener in Medford, NJ, the girls beat the Orange Crush 5-0 and the NJ Monsters 8-0.
Based on the number of wins, runs allowed and runs scored the team was named runner up for the weekend.
Up next - Kaboom Tournament April 12th and 13th @ Wakefield Park in Annandale, Va.
Cabin Fever VI Champs
The Lake Shore 12U girls opened the 2008 season by winning the Cabin Fever VI in Virginia Beach. Using superior pitching and stellar defense, the girls held three quality opponents scoreless on Sat. Due to rain on Sunday, the bracket portion of the tournament was canceled, and based on runs allowed they were crowned champions.
