Bryce Bristow, who played quarterback for the 2009 Laurel Midget team, was
presented with the 2009/2010 Casey Lynch Award on Sunday, January 31st, during
the Henlopen Conference Banquet at the Fountains, in Salisbury. Bryce has played
for Laurel Pop Warner since he was 7 years old.
The Henlopen Pop Warner Football League awards a Midget Football Player the Casey Lynch
Award annually. Casey was a 13-year-old quarterback of the 1991 Delmar Midget "Wildcats"
who died on the Delmar football field while playing the Woodbridge "Blue Raiders" with 17
seconds left in a 6-6 tie game. Only one Midget player is chosen to receive this award
each year in Casey's memory. Every football player in the Henlopen Pop Warner Football
League is eligible for this award. Criteria for this award include outstanding leadership
on the field, in the classroom and in the community, along with above average grades
in all subjects and his respect for his parents, coaches, teachers classmates and fellow teammates.
Congratulations Bryce!! It is such an honor to finally
have one of our own chosen for this award. You've made
the LPW community very proud!
