What It Takes To Be A Warrior
High School sports and intercollegiate athletics were some of the most memorable and rewarding experiences of our lives. Working together with our team mates through blood sweat and tears with a single goal, to win. If you were talented enough and lucky enough you were able to join the elite athletes of the world and continue quenching your thirst for physical competition. For many of us however, our days in the arena were left behind us upon graduation. We faced new challenges, with our careers and family. Many of which were met with great rewards and self satisfaction. Deep down inside, the WARRIOR within had to be silenced and competition was sought elsewhere. Flag football and rough touch leagues may have offered venues of release, but something was still missing. Every time you watch an NFL game on Sunday, you feel a sense of anxiety, an urge within your soul, an adrenaline rush accompanied with a distant memory of the time when you were a part of the greatest game ever played. You remember looking across at your bruised and battered opponent, knowing that he is giving it out as much as he is taking it. Not this time, this play is mine, your going to remember my number. Enter; SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL. This arena of competition fortified with dedicated athletes with one thing in common, a desire to play football. One thing about these athletes that many people don't understand is, why do they subject themselves to such punishment and they do not get paid? There is no news coverage, no endorsements, and no television appearances. Why do they do it? The answer is simple, to satisfy the WARRIROR within. They have a sheer, unconditional love for the game. No money, no contracts, just blood and guts. Team; always remember what it takes to be a WARRIOR.
