Elite is looking for sophmores or juniors looking to play spring, summer, and fall baseball including tournaments. If interested please email brookhavenelite@yahoo.com and fill out tryout form.
2011 Year in Review
Elite had high expectations heading into 2011 with the most talented roster we have ever had, mixing many returning players with some incredible new talent. However, Elite decided to play up in age and challenge the boys with a tougher schedule. The team played wood bat 17u with a team of all 15 year olds and took some lumps. Mix the age difference, adjustment to wood bats, and a few key injuries and Elite did not get off to a good start.
With a loss of confidence Elite struggled in tournaments early on with a tough close loss to the rival Cobras. Elite seemed to turn the corner the second half of the July 4th weekend beating the CGI Braves eventual tournament champions, and losing a close game to the Breakers.
Heading into the second half of the summer season Elite turned on heat in the Town of Brookhaven Varsity Division, getting their record close to .500 beating some quality opponents. Elite would go onto win their first playoff game in exciting fashion scoring 4 runs in the top of the 9th inning. They would eventually lose a tight playoff game in round 2.
Elite decided to join the Ed Rall Tournament desipte missing many players due to injuries and planned vacations. However, the boys fared very well and got their winning swagger back. They went 3-1 in the tournament finishing in second place, losing a one run game in the championship game.
Elite looks to get back to their winning ways in 2012 with a full roster returning to the field.
