With a larger than expected turn-out, we needed to make some time changes.   Starting with the next session (Sunday, 7 February) and continuing with the remaining sessions, the following groups and times will be in effect. 

 

10:00 to 11:00: 6 and under & 8 and under

11:00 to 12:00: 10 and under

12:00 to 1:00:  12 and under

1:00 to 2:00: 14 and under & 18 and under

Every girls should wear comfortable, easy to move in clothes (sweats or shorts and a t-shirt). Please bring your glove and plenty of drinking water to each session.  Optional items: batting helmet, bat, batting gloves, knee pads (kneeling on the gym floor can be tough on the knees.  If you do not already own these things do not rush out and buy them as there is plenty of league provided equipment.

FAQ's:

 

1.  LLGSL serves girls who wish to play fast pitch softball from ages 5-18.  Our fields are located in the Sterling/Cascades area but since we play in the Loudoun County Softball Alliance games are played on fields located in Ashburn, Leesburg , Chantilly and Herndon/Reston.

 

2.  Our league is open to girls who wish to play softball at any skill level.  All that sign up will be placed on a team.

 

3.  Practices/Games:  Generally, most teams play one game during the week and on Saturday's beginning in late March through the beginning of June.  Practice sessions are held based on field availability and generally only once a week after the season begins.

 

4.  Our age cut off for each division is January 1.  6 and under play in our tee ball division; 8 and under play in machine/coach pitch division; 10 and under play in the first year of player pitch; 12 and under play in a more advance group of player pitch and a wider open game that applies less restrictive playing rules, and our 14 and under and 18 and under girls play in an advanced level of recreation fast pitch softball.

 

 

 

LLGSL is currently seeking youth umpires for our spring 2010 season.  Our youth umpires get paid $30 per game.  All equipment and training is provided free of charge!  Previous experience not necessary but knowldge of baseball or softball rules/fundamentals a plus.  Contact Jodi Sweeney for further infomation:  (jodisweeney62@gmail.com)
