CESA Tournament -- Phoenix
The Long Bay SC Phoenix traveled to Greensville last weekend to take on some of the top teams from South Carolina and Georgia. The girls came out fast and hard against the CESA Challenge team and beat them 2-0 with goals from Niki and MacKenzie. In the afternoon they played a highly ranked Georgia squad from the NASA Soccer Club and came up short losing 4-2 vs the very fast North Atlanta team. On Sunday, the girls needed to win by one goal and CESA needed to knock off NASA by one or more goals for the Phoenix to advance. CESA won 4-2 and with the score tied in the last 10 minutes of the game, a Furman player slipped by the defense and scored the goal that was the eventual knock out for the girls.
