The Lowcountry Ballers Basketball Association (LBBA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501c(3) affiliate organization comprised of young athletes in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
We are committed to empowering our nation's future leaders, thru their involvement in athletics and community service. We offer a healthy alternative to the at-risk behaviors such as substance abuse, under-age drinking, teenage pregnancy, youth violence and suicide, etc…that face our young people everyday. We are dedicated to building their confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills in order to enable positive contributions to our society.
Our OBJECTIVES are to:
-
Enhance personal development - athletic, academic, citizenship, community service -
Increase individual basketball skill level -
Provide higher level of competition -
Provide maximum exposure to college coaches & scouting services -
Field competitive teams with diverse players inclusive of the Lowcountry area
Through participation in area, regional and national tournaments, our players are given the opportunity to display their talents in front of college coaches. Our sponsors’ donations go toward their expenses and increase the possibility of obtaining a college education perhaps even receiving a basketball scholarship in the future.
We compete against other talented teams across North America in various sanctioned tournaments. Many of our former players have received scholarships and are playing and attending colleges locally and nationwide. Many current players are now being recruited for scholarships partly because of their demonstrated ability participating with our organization in past seasons.
Our teams are comprised of 10-17 year old girls and boys who will compete each season. We support the local HS coaches and encourage our “older” ballers as they play on the area high school teams such as Summerville, Goose Creek, North Charleston, St. Johns, Woodland, Berkeley, Ft. Dorchester, Beaufort, Pinewood Prep., Ashley Hall, Porter Gaud, Charleston Collegiate, Stratford, Timberland, Wando, James Island Charter, Academic Magnet, Military Magnet, Stall, Ashley Ridge, Cane's Bay, and others…while the younger ones play at the respective middle schools.
If you are interested in learning more about how you can become a BALLER please email us at:
info@lowcountryballers.orgPlease consider assisting these players not only strive toward their goal of a college education but also as they challenge themselves to embrace sportsmanship, competition, teamwork, and pride in what they can accomplish!!!
