2024 Lake Placid International Hockey Tournament

Thanks for your patience but the schedule has finally been emailed out to all team contacts that registered their team.  This year we have 55 teams and almost 120 games scheduled with all teams getting 1 game on the famous “Miracle on Ice” 1980 Rink.  It should be a busy and exciting weekend.

Please read through the information below regarding the tournament:

  • Before your first game please come up to Tournament Headquarters (the person who registered your team only – not each player / coach / family) located on the mezzanine level of the 1980 rink facing the outdoor speed skating oval.  At that time, you will receive your welcome bag for the team, review the game sheets, etc.
  • Up on the mezzanine level of the 1980 rink will be souvenir sales, photography sales, raffle baskets and much more.  Please encourage your parents to stop by and check it out.
  • The Olympic Center has added streaming capabilities recently so please share this link - https://www.tv.lakeplacidolympiccenter.com - with your family members that cannot make the trip to Lake Placid but might want to watch a game.  This streaming service is at the Lake Placid Olympic Center only.  The Saranac Lake Civic Center does not offer streaming services at this time.
  • Pins – It is not mandatory to bring pins to exchange but if your association has them it is always a nice gesture, and the kids usually enjoy collecting different pins.
  • Locker room assignments will be posted on the tv monitors in each of the 3 rinks at the Olympic Center.  Before each game you will find your locker room assignment in the rink your team is playing in.  Please make sure you look at the proper game time and division as many associations bring multiple teams.
  • Our schedule and results will be posted online.  To avoid any confusion, we will not have the schedule online until the day the tournament starts.  To view the schedule online you need to select the proper level and division.  In past years this has led to some confusion as people thought their schedule may have changed, especially for those associations that send multiple teams and are just looking for their generic team’s name.
  • Although everyone will be in Lake Placid for a hockey tournament please get out and explore / enjoy all that Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and the surrounding area has to offer.  If you need ideas of things to do check out www.lakeplacid.com or stop by Tournament Headquarters and one of our volunteers will gladly give you some suggestions.  The hotel front desk staff are also great sources of information.

We are looking forward to a great weekend of hockey for the kids and hope that they have a lot of fun as the season comes to an end.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we want to thank you for attending our tournament again this year.

Thursday Feb. 22nd thru Sunday Feb. 25th

We will be offering the following divisions: Mite B/C Jamboree (Saturday only in either the USA rink or Saranac Lake), Squirt A, B & C, Peewee A, B & C, Bantam A, B & C, and 14U Girls Tier II B/C.

The Lake Placid International Tournament is geared towards Tier II and Tier III teams that play at the A, B or C level.  If your team is Tier I or plays at the AA or AAA level you will probably not be accepted.  Additionally, the application process is NOT on a first-come first-serve basis.  Applications are reviewed every couple of weeks, and we will begin to accept teams in mid to late September.  Our tournament committee reviews all applications and accepts teams that they feel will help create the most competitive divisions at all levels.  Several factors such as level, past attendance, geographic diversity within a division, etc. will all be considered during the process of reviewing and accepting teams.

All teams must be available to play on Thursday beginning at Noon.  No preference is given to distance travelled.
