ABOUT THE LSC PUMAS:
The LSC Pumas are a Laurel Soccer Club (LSC) team based in the Rockville/Potomac/Bethesda area. The Pumas are a competitive U13 WAGS travel soccer team (8/01/97-7/31/98) with players hailing from Bethesda, Rockville, Potomac, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Laurel, Olney, Bowie, Columbia, and Elkridge. The Pumas are coached by Coach Pierre who has over 30 years of soccer experience as both a high-level player and USSF ("C") and NSCAA licensed coach. The Pumas are also coached by Coach David who is also a USSF licensed coach and has several years of coaching experience. Their coaching philosophy is to take a long term view to the development of our players, seeking to build strong technical skills, ball mastery technique, provide individual insight and inspire personal creativity, while striving to strike a balance between individual and team development. The Pumas provide a comprehensive training program designed to enhance overall skill development in the technical, tactical, and physical aspects of the game of soccer. The Pumas benefit from a range of other opportunities for their continued development, including Goalie training, Speed and Agility training, and Skills training from renowned professional trainer and ex-professional Brazilian soccer player, Fernando Guedes, of the Brazilian Soccer Training Academy (BSTA).
The team is made up of a wonderful and promising group of girls. Their families support a positive environment for developing a true passion for the game and developing a strong skill set. The Pumas emphasize sportsmanship, team spirit/unity, the development of a true passion for the game, and playing beautiful soccer (Joga Bonito). The Pumas train in the Rockville/Potomac/Bethesda area and play year-round soccer, including 2-3 Premier tournaments per season across the region. * Liberty Cup Invitational Tourney: March 26-27 2011
* Hershey Park Invitational (Hershey, PA): June 18-19 2011
PUMA ACCOMPLISHMENTS (as of 1/01/2011):
* 2nd Place: WAGS Div-5 (Fall 2010). The Pumas finished with a 5-2-2 record.
* 2nd Place: ODSL Travel League Div-1 (Spring 2010). The Pumas finished with a 5-1-2 record.
* 2nd Place: Winter Indoor Soccer League (2009/2010).
* 3rd Place: Columbia Fall Classic Premier Tournament (Nov 2009).
* Semi-Finalist: SAC United Premier Columbus Day Tournament (Oct 2009).
* 1st place: ODSL Travel League Div-2 (Fall 2009). The Pumas completed an undefeated Fall season with a 6-0-2 record (33 goals scored and 6 goals allowed).
