LSG/Lufthansa Team goes south

The LSG/Lufthansa Softball Team will be travelling to the Schwaig Midnight Ball this upcoming weekend, so called because the final game is to be played at exactly midnight! This is a new venture for us, and will give us a chance to meet many "new" teams. With 18 teams in attendance, this should be a fun event with plenty of playing time. The team plans to round out this event by visiting Munich on Sunday morning!
LSG/Lufthansa Team place 2nd at the Hevensen Summerfun Tournament

The LSG/Lufthansa Team reach the final at the Hevensen Summerfun Tournament, but like last year, come up short due to the Bryan Perry Show! Paderborn`s power hitter accounted for six Pitchbull runs on two homeruns to defend the title for two straight years. Congratulations to the Pitchbulls and thanks for the fair and fun final!

LSG/Lufthansa Team places 5th in the 2010 Brew Bash

The long journey to our friends from Augsburg was, as always, an experience. The weekend was spent battling mosquitos, slugs, and above all - the sweltering heat - but the games, fireworks, and Germany`s win over Argentina (for which the tournament was paused :-) ), made it all the more worthwhile. We had the honour of having the inaugural match against the Aschaffenburg Mohawks - and this time, the Mohawks got the better of us and won deservingly 10-9 to basically put us out of contention for a shot at the title.
Many thanks to the Brew Crew for the invitation and all you did to entertain all attending teams. You`re efforts are greatly appreciated! Congratulations to your new field (home) and all the best for the future!
LSG/Lufthansa Team wins Lippe Cup 2010

The LSG/Lufthansa Team wins the Lippe Cup 2010, which was hosted this year by the Bad Salzuflen Bexx. Our thanks go out to all the Bexx for having us - we really appreciate the effort you put forth that made this event memorable yet again! Also thanks to all attending teams for the fair and fun games - it was great seeing you all again!
LSG/Lufthansa Team places 3rd in Kornwestheim

Our venue at our old friends, the Kornwestheim Woodpeckers, resulted in a strong third place. Our two losses against the hosts Woodpeckers and the later tournament winner BBK were both accounted for by only one run. Thank you again Woodpeckers for being great hosts and for the T-shirts supplied for all the players, it`s always a pleasure to see you all!
Our next tournament is this coming weekend in Bad Salzuflen, the first of four fastpitch events we will be attending this year.
LSG/Lufthansa Team wins Desperados Tournament
The LSG/Lufthansa Team take a deserved victory in this years Schwäbisch-Hall Desperados tournament, remaining undefeated even though facing a tough Kornwestheim Team in the preliminary round and the league primus BeBe`sKidz twice, including a thriller final for players and spectators. Scores are posted, stats and game reports to follow! After back to back tournaments, we`re all happy to have a small break before our next venture in Kornwestheim...
LSG/Lufthansa Team finishes last in BBK Jamboree
It was a long drive up to the 2nd Annual BBK Jamboree, which was hosted by the Hengelo Giants, NL - but quite worthwhile, as we got a chance to finally see old friends from the European Softball Community after the long winter break. Although we finished fourth in the sports division, the LSG Team showed their competetiveness by winning at least once against each of the all-military teams from Volkel, NL and Geilenkirchen, DE in the Saturday round-robin playoffs. Unfortunately, in the double-elim phase on Sunday, we dropped the first two games instantly to put us out of competition - due in large to the fact that we stranded far too many runners on base.
Our thanks go out to the BBK Team for the invitation and of course to the Hengelo Giants - who once again were excellent hosts!
Stats and scores for this tournament will be posted shortly, next venue is already on the upcoming weekend in Schwäbisch-Hall.
