Welcome to our Baseball Club!

LOUYAA Baseball Club (LBC) is the Recreational and Travel baseball program of LOUYAA.  We are committed to a fun, developmental, educational and competitive environment for the youth of our community. We are 100% based on volunteer coordinators and coaches, and rely on our registered parents to make each and every season a success.

Our mission is to teach baseball FUNdamentals through explanation, demonstration, and practice by repeating the process with patience, compassion and sportsmanship.

To provide the best possible baseball experience, we offer instruction at different levels and available to all players:
  • Recreational
  • Select
  • Full-time Travel

Keeping baseball FUN and SAFE, especially in the early stages of youth baseball, is a primary concern of the LOUYAA Baseball Club which is Senior, Major, Minor, Rookie, and T-Ball Divisions.

LBC Travel Baseball Announcement,

Thank you for your interest in our travel programs, we hope to provide you and your family with a positive experience that is both educational and fulfilling. Our LBC Travel Program is lead by Evan Evans who brings over 22 years of baseball coaching experience to LBC. Evan Evans has served as an envoy coach with the Toronto Blue Jays, assistant coach with the Belgian National team, Namur Angels, George Mason University, UMBC, Frederick Community College, Atholton High School, and several youth travel and recreational teams.

The mission of LBC Travel Baseball program is to continue developing baseball skills to a level of excellence that will be passed on to future travel teams and our local high school programs.  We will develop players not only on the field but also instill a sense of responsibility and community pride in all players who participate.  We will promote strong character both on and off the field along with promoting good will among our teams and opponents.  We will insist on good sportsmanship and proper behavior.  Most importantly, we want EVERYONE to develop their baseball skills while enjoying their experience with our program.  This includes players, coaches, parents and fans.  We want our opponents, their fans and the umpires to enjoy their experience with our program. We encourage our players to participate in our recreational league as a means to further develop their skills, support the overall LBC program, prepare for the upcoming travel season and play with their friends.  Our ultimate goal as an organization is to be recognized as the standard of excellence by other communities and we want as many as possible to be part of it.

Tryouts dates have been finalized and are listed below. Our goal is to continue to foster healthy competition and development, and therefore, no roster spots or positions on our travel teams are "held". All players must earn their spot back on a team. Also, all head coaches must re-apply for their position. Our goal is to be open and as fair as possible during this process, and thus, the tryouts will be run by evaluators who have a vast baseball background and do not have a kid trying out at the age level they are evaluating. The evaluators will score and rank each kid, and head coaches will follow the selection process outlined by the Travel Tryouts Committee.

For 12u and below, LBC Travel baseball will be going to a hierarchy system and the intention will be for to field an “A”, "B", and “C” team at each age division if possible:

  • "A" Travel - Lightning: CRAB Travel League or MABA Division 1

  • "B" Travel - Bolts: MABA Division 2

  • "C" Travel - Thunder: Sunday Only

  • Any exceptions must be approved by the Travel Committee

YES...the Make-up date for tryouts is 7/22 (July 22nd) which is BEFORE the scheduled tryouts. We need to have our teams finalized by mid-August so please attend the scheduled tryouts in August. However, if you know you will be out of town or are unable to make the August tryouts then you can attend the make-up evaluation on July 22nd. This will still allow us to complete selections of our teams by mid-August. If you are unable to make either tryout date please contact Evan Evans at coachevanevans@gmail.com  and we can possibly arrange for a separate evaluation.

These tryouts are for the 2016 Spring Travel teams...once the Spring team is selected the head coach will poll his players and parents and decided on what type of Fall baseball program they will run. Options for the Fall season include:

  • full-time Fall travel league season/games with practices

  • no Fall league play and many tournaments with practices

  • no Fall league play and a few tournaments with practices

  • only practices for the Fall with no games or tournaments

  • nothing for the entire Fall season

.

Players will be ranked by their evals that will be conducted by coaches who have professional baseball experience and do not have a kid in the age group that they are evaluating. Our goal is to make the evaluation process as fair and unbiased as possible.

Head coaches will be named after the Day 1 evaluation (but before the sandlot game) to ensure that the coach's son is eligible to compete at the level their father will be coaching. The purpose is to first place the kids at the levels they deserve and then find a head coach whose kid is at that level.

Any exceptions to the outline procedure must be approved by the Travel Committee beforehand.

ALL Travel players MUST register for tryouts before July 31st or pay a $25.00 late fee. The Travel registration link is live and can be accessed at:
